Looking at the cover images of a quartet of tattooed, Orange County-style punk rockers, one might be forgiven for assuming that Bowling for Soup is yet another band of Blink 182 wannabes. While A HANGOVER YOU DON'T DESERVE's chugging guitars, high-pitched vocals, tight playing, and rapid tempos are certainly elements common to the music of the Texas-based combo's Southern California brethren, Bowling for Soup's sharp songwriting places it in a different category altogether.

With pure pop smarts on par with Fountains of Wayne, lead vocalist/songwriter Jaret Reddick is more inventive than the average neo-punk frontman. Lyrically, Reddick may be the closest thing to his genre's Elvis Costello, spinning out unusually clever observations and oft-hilarious pop-culture references. ("Ohio [Come Back To Texas]" may be the only song in history to name-check Pantera and the twin daughters of George W. Bush in a single line.) A must-listen for fans of both pop-punk and power-pop's humorous sides, A HANGOVER YOU DON'T DESERVE will keep listeners snickering and moshing in equal measure.

5 stars This one rocks kids...
Gotta give credit where credit is due, and with this album, they've done it. This equally appeals to myself, my wife, our 5 and 6 year old boys (who have seen them in concert twice), and the teenager next door. Without loosing their "rock star" and rebel band credibility, this group of WF boys has managed to create a classic, genre crossing, generational spanning masterpiece of entertainment. This belongs in rotation in everyones car.

5 stars I LOVE BFS!!!!
I absolutely LOVE Bowling for Soup!!! I have 2 of their other albums... and this one tops them all!! All the songs are fun with catchy tunes and hysterical lyrics. Don't forget to skip all the "blank tracks" and listen to the very last hidden song (Belgium which they have on all of their albums) and BFS in the studio! Check out their other CD's too... Drunk Enough to Dance and Let's do it for Johnny!!!! They all ROCK!!! :-D

5 stars Very addictive, fun, funny... GREAT!!!
I just bought it and can't get it out of my cd player. Most of it is written with tongue firmly in cheek. Very creative. Very funny. I recommend this to everybody. I only wish I would've caught them when they were in town. Now to go back and get their other stuff...

I have listeind 2 this album everyday and Jaret is pretty cute!! but ne ways it is like the greatest cd ever! accually my mom got me into it because she baught it, and now i maddicted to it o well i guess since it is my type of music not hers!! ok well bye
