I'm perfectly serious, this should have gotten the Oscar for Best Documentary that year. 'Nuff said.

| Looking past the hype during '91, this is a good DVD
Metallica - A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica video During 1991 when Metallica first unleashed the Black album upon the world i really didn't like it. I felt it had far too much air time on the radio, was over marketed, & was accepted by portions of society that usually disliked metal. Now that the hype has died down for some time, i'm giving the music from the Black album a chance. I watched this DVD before actually buying the CD, & found it to be a enjoyable experience. Everything about it was well done, the music sellection, interviews, music videos, live preformances, & footage both in & out of the studio. If your thinking of giving the Black album a chance after originally not liking it, i suggest watching "A Year & A Half In The Life Of ... Part 1 & 2" first. I'm happy that i decided to give this DVD a chance, & not let my past opinions prevent me from enjoying it.

| everything you wanted to know about the black album era.
Metallica - A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica film this DVD contains almost four hours of metallica, consisting of an indepth 96 minute "making of the black album" from the first day of recording, till the album hit the shelves of record stores. the remainder of the DVD contains segments and actual live songs and edited tour promo videos of the first 14 months of the black album world tour. some of the live songs include an explosive version of "for whom the bell tolls", a speaker ripping version of "harvester of sorrow" and many versions of "enter sandman" and "sad but true" plus much more. i have no complaints about this dvd. i think it's cool {decent video and sound quality} and i'm sure other people agree.

Metallica - A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica review i give it 4 cuz the black album kicks a$$ its one of those albums u can sit and listen to all the way through and better yet watch Metallica Make this kicka$$ album all the way from enter sandman till struggle within not to mention all the videos from the album and them on the road the movie is the $hit i defently say BUY IT!!!
