Scarborough Fair
$15.29 Personnel: Robben Ford (vocals, guitar); Neal Evans (Hammond b-3 organ); Toss Panos (drums). Audio Mixer: John Paterno. Photographer: George Wells. Some of guitarist Robben Ford's weaknesses, such as song composition and vocals, are rectified or at least made less obvious, on this predominantly live release. On his fourth release for the Concord label, Ford is able to cherrypick better material from inconsistent albums, unearth choice covers, and generally broaden the music with his fiery playing. This, along with the natural energy generated by the stage environment, focuses attention on the guitarist's skills as a creative six-string bluesman who expands the narrow confines ...

$16.45 Well, the legend goes a little like this. Danny Glaser was born in Everett, Washington a few moons ago. Danny grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and then good ole Reno, Nevada as a boy. As fate had it, his family then moved to a ranch in the small farming town in North Texas called Ector. When Danny was 13 years of age he found his calling. His mother had an old guitar that she bought back in San Fran to learn folk music. She showed young Danny how to play “Skip to my Lou” and “This land is your land” on the guitar. Who knew what was to happen next. Danny played that guitar until his fingers split and bled. He would put band aides on and get after again. He developed a passion that would lead him to Florida at 18 to pursue a career in music. Times were rough in Florida so he bounced back into the DFW music scene playing in bands. Danny’s songwriting ability was infectious. He always wrote the songs. Then tragedy hit Danny. His best friend and co-songwriter John Hicks passed away. Danny found it tough to continue. He barely even touched an instrument for some years. It was not until a few years ago when his cousin Greg Glaser convinced him to jam again. Well, this was just the spark of a new beginning. It was time to put some tunes together. Danny called up his old buddy JQ Spiller and asked him if he wanted to start playing again. JQ obliged. The two then thought of a bass player they saw one night out at Legacy Ridge. It just so happened to be transplanted Aussie, Ross Griffith. Ross jumped on board and things were starting to look like a band. Greg Glaser came back from Seattle and was called upon for keyboard and backing vocals. Ross then introduced them to his best bud Dayvid Wood, who just so happen to play drums. Well, that was it. Danny had his band. Danny put his songs to full throttle and recorded an album. Something he had yearned for a long time for. ...
