(4 Customer Reviews)
This DVD includes live performances spanning Meat Loaf's career including hits from Bat Out Of Hell, Dead Ringer, Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell, Couldn't Have Said It Better, and more! Bonus features include featurette intro with director and band members, making of documentary, behind-the-scenes footage, photo gallery, and videos of "Couldn't Have Said It Better" and "Did I Say That." Always looking for another extravagant gesture to make, Meat Loaf outdoes himself once again with this spectacular live concert performance. Taking to the stage with the backing of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Meat (or should that be Mr. Loaf?) works his way through a number of his classic hard hitting rock tunes. Among the tracks performed are "Dead Ringer For Love," "Life Is A Lemon (And I Want My Money Back)," "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)," and of course the ubiquitous "Bat Out of Hell." Great band exellent soun and the only thing keeping it from perfect score is Meats singing, sometimes he sings the songs different and with more theatrical voice,i would prefer them in its original form

| | Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime II CD (2006)
Meat Loaf - Live With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra movie DVD
$15.65 Personnel: Miranda Tate, Geoff Tate, Pamela Moore, Ronnie James Dio (vocals). Audio Mixer: Jason Slater. Recording information: Synergy Studios, Redmond; The Annex, Menlo Park; The Compound, Seattle, WA. Jet City pomp-metallers Queensryche left their denim-jacketed fanbase hanging for close to two decades following the release of 1988's OPERATION: MINDCRIME, a sociopolitical concept album, and the subsequent chart success of its 1990 follow-up, EMPIRE. Frontman Geoff Tate (credited here as "Leader") returns to finish the tale as if the 1990s never happened, offering up a brace of unadulterated '80s metal that, miraculously, sounds in step with where the band left off and at the same time, given early-2000s nostalgia trends, seems ahead of the curve. Caught between the epic arena-prog of Rush and the grungy grit of Alice in Chains, Tate infuses OPERATION: MINDCRIME II with a passion and craftsmanship that virtually all his former peers have abandoned, leading the charge to bring his own music back to public adoration. To wit, "An Intentional Confrontation" borrows heavily from Roy Thomas Baker's work with Queen, "Murderer?" storms with the fire of a hair-metal Nine Inch Nails, and "I'm American" reaffirms Queensryche's blustery roots. All in all, OPERATION: MINDCRIME II is an excellent, ...
| | Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose CD (2006)
Meat Loaf - Live With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra video
$11.29 Personnel: Meat Loaf (vocals); Marion Raven (vocals); Corky James, Eric Bazilian, Steve Vai, Brian May, John 5 (guitar); Matt Rollings (piano); Mark Alexander (organ); Kasim Sulton (bass guitar); Victor Indrizzo (drums); Kenny Aronoff (percussion); Desmond Child, Todd Rundgren (background vocals). Nearly three decades after 1977's BAT OUT OF HELL, and 13 years after its sequel, BACK INTO HELL, Meat Loaf unleashed BAT OUT OF HELL III: THE MONSTER IS LOOSE. While the album was reportedly bogged down in legal disputes between the drama-loving rock performer (aka Marvin "Michael" Aday) and songwriter Jim Steinman, the longtime collaborators apparently patched things up in time for its release on Halloween of 2006. Also assisting Meat Loaf on this typically bold and wonderfully bombastic outing are Todd Rundgren (on vocal arrangements only) and producer Desmond Child, along with a slew of guests including Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 (the uncharacteristically heavy title track) and virtuoso hard-rock six-stringer Steve Vai (the fierce "In the Land of the Pig, the Butcher Is King"). This being a BAT OUT OF HELL installment, of course, there's room for a heart-wrenching duet (with newcomer Marion Raven) on "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" (famously recorded by Celine Dion first) and grandiose pop-tinged rock on "Bad for Good," which benefits from the unmistakable guitar riffs of Queen's Brian May. If it seems like a lot stuffed ...
