These two concerts offer different and contrasting snapshots of the '80's Crimson. "Live in Frejus" heavily features music from the album "Beat," and was filmed on tour in Europe with Roxy Music. "Three Of a Perfect Pair" showcased the band's triumphant 1984 Japanese performances. Extras include "Sleepless" video, Tony's road photos, and discography. Since their inception in 1969, King Crimson has consistently defied categorization, while continually being an innovative force in music, influencing generations to come, and paving the way for bands like Nine Inch Nails and Tool. With an ever-evolving sound that has developed over the four decades that King Crimson has been making music, the prog-rock pioneers moved into a more accessible, pop-driven sound with their album THREE OF A PERFECT PAIR (1984), while still retaining Robert Fripps's stunning guitar work and dynamic stylings. It also featured more open spaces and texture over the previously tight fretwork to be found on "Discipline" and "Beat." This release includes concert footage from the previously released THREE OF A PERFECT PAIR, as well as "The Noise;" a video of a live performance filmed in France during the group's "Discipline" tour. King Crimson - Neal And Jack And Me Movie Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Crimson Log: The 80's These concerts had been previously available seperately on VHS and now you can get both on the same DVD which is a good bargain to start with. The 80's version of the Crims was predominantly quite more techno-pop than Prog, the set lists here make that quite evident. The '82 concert at Frejus (somewhere in europe) is tight and although the lighting is rather poor, the sound is right on target. The Tokyo concert from '84 is a whole lot better in many ways: video quality, sound and great full stage shots - specially the Bruford closeups. Fripp also shines during his solos and guitar flashes. But it is Belew who takes the limelight 80% of the concerts. Great music for a great value, can't miss! Submitted by leolop (Katy, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Belew me away! Two great hard to find videos now available at one great price. We're all so used to watching these on bootleg quality third generation videotapes, What a pleasure seeing them again in a crisp and vibrant format. As Tony Levin said whilst getting his head shaved in the perfect pair video, "Feels Good!" Submitted by sguphx (Phoenix, Arizona) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Most Innovated Band Chances are you will never hear a KC song on the radio (and if any, it's either Catfood or 21st Century Schizoid Man), but to see them perform their music is an experience. I don't know that I could categorize their music, but I do enjoy it. The video is not 100% pristine, but the stage is well let so you really won't notice (unless you wanted to watch it in slow-motion). Since this is 2 concerts, there are repeat songs, but that is just fine. More mile for the money! Submitted by MB (Dallas, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

King Crimson - Neal And Jack And Me review
$6.19 It was widely assumed that when vocalist/songwriter Jon Anderson left Yes at the end of the '70s, the band was doomed. Most folks forgot that bassist/composer Chris Squire was the other founding member of the band, and he had as much to do with their sound as Anderson. It was surprising enough when the band decided to continue with a new vocalist and keyboardist. It was even more surprising when the new members turned out to be Trevor Horn (later a famed pop producer) and Geoff Downes (who would soon depart with Steve Howe for Asia). And it was downright shocking when the resultant album DRAMA turned out to be a great one.
While Horn's voice is in the same general range as Anderson's, he tends to blend more with the vocals of Howe and Squire for a distinctive three-part harmony sound. Similarly, the individual instrumental statements of Howe and Downes avoid grandstanding in favor of the group dynamic. Consequently, DRAMA is one of Yes' most direct, concise offerings, full of relatively short songs that still maintain all the Yes hallmarks. Anderson diehards should leave their inhibitions at the door.
For this one album, ex-Buggles Geoffrey Downes and ...
