||What a voice!|
Listening to Karen do her thing on this album is really wonderful. This SACD is a real work of art; track after track is a real trip down memory lane. Again what a waste to lose a talent like hers!

||Absolutely beautiful SACD|
I've long forgotten or repressed The Carpenters, but listening to this SACD quickly forced me to recall the incredible vocals of Karen Carpenter. I can't comment on the remix as compared to the original, but this is a disc that must be experienced, especially on a well-matched high end system.

||The Best of the Best|
Richard and his audio engineers have done an outstanding job in remixing the audio into a multi-channel format. As an audio engineer myself, I can really appreciate the artistic care that is present in this disc. I only hope that this is not the last disc to be released as an SACD.

||Not the same as I remember.|
This CD has been remixed. Most of the songs don't sound the same as I remember them. For this I'm disapointed. I don't like remixes. I avoid them like the plague. They never sound as good as the originals. I like the original 'Merry Christmas Darling' from 1970 better too. But it's not here. Please make a greatest hits CD using the original two track masters. That would really be a treasure. I mean, no one would want to buy a re-painted Mona Lisa would they?

||A Great Set Improved.|
If you like The Carpenters and if you like quality HiFi, you have to have this definitive CD. A&L recordings in the 70's were not the best, but this SACD has extracted everything there is to make it quality sound reproduction. Karen really appears in front of the listener and, as is the case with genuine SACD sound, there is a feeling of more space around the instruments. Great bargain for the serious listener. Hope their later albums will receive the same treatment!
