| Bad vocals I love Survivor and I was looking forward to this cd.What a disappointment.Jim Jamison's voice is so strained,he has a hard time to stay in tune and most of the time he can not. It is hard to listen these great songs like this.Sound like an amateur band.Buy the studio albums, not this awful live cd. By george (canada) |
| Highly Recommended Another great cd from Survivor. This one is live from a show in Japan in 1985. Songs are Feels Like Love, Broken Promises, First Night, High On You, Popular Girl, I See You in Everyone, The Search is Over, I'm Not That Man Anymore, Eye of the Tiger, Caught in the Game. Anyone who likes Jimi Jamison or the melodic rock of Survivor will really enjoy it By Ryan (Wooster, Ohio) |

Reach CD (2006)
Extended Versions: The Encore Collection songs For nearly two decades, not much was heard from one of the '80s top mainstream rock acts, Survivor. In the wake of 1988's Too Hot to Sleep, it seemed as if the band had fallen off the face of the earth. But with renewed interest in '80s rock circa the early 21st century, three Survivor veterans -- singer Jimi Jamison (not the "Eye of the Tiger" guy, he's the "Burning Heart" guy), guitarist Frankie Sullivan, and drummer Marc Droubay -- opted to resuscitate the band, with 2006's Reach. Unlike some other acts of the '80s who attempt to keep pace with the young pups by updating their sound (and oft-times floundering), Reach finds Survivor sticking with what they know best. And of course, that's melodic rockers with a clean production, as evidenced by such tracks as the album-opening title track and "Fire Makes Steel." And of course, what would a Survivor album be without the obligatory sappy ballad? No need to worry, "Rhythm of Your Heart" is Survivor's latest entry in the power ballad canon. But without a new Rocky movie to provide an anthem for, Reach will appeal only to diehards. ~ Greg Prato
Well-known all over the world for their hit song 'Eye of the Tiger' for the movie 'Rocky III,' SURVIVOR singles have since consistently topped the charts worldwide. These hits included 'Burning Heart,' 'Vital Signs,' and 'Is This Love.' Now, 17 years after their last studio album, Survivor are back with a brand new studio album. This album meets the great demand of the existing fans who have been asking for years for new songs that could continue in the legacy of the great sound the band created in the past! Frontiers Records. 2005.
