| | Stooges My Girl Hates My Heroin/Live & Rare CD Stooges Discography of CDs
This two-CD set is a Stooges collector's dream. It includes the bootleg of a 1973 live show, and lots of unreleased material from '69, '70, and '71. Also included is an interview with Iggy Pop. The sets include such Stooges classics as "Search and Destroy," "TV Eye," and "1970."
Here is yet another compilation of 1973-era rehearsals, concentrating for the most part on material that had not yet seen the light of day. Only "Open Up and Bleed" is a repeat, having previously appeared on Rubber Legs; the remainder of the album is fresh, even if the song titles are now becoming wearyingly familiar. Full of electrifying riffery, with Iggy in dramatically commanding form, this is the sound of the Stooges at their tightest, a silver pants-clad killing machine that cuts through the less than hi-fi sound quality with an aggression and rage that could warp your woofer if you played it loudly enough. In common with the rest of the fan club's output from this period, anybody with a copy of the Heavy Liquid box set can pass this disc by, but at the time of release, it was as worthy as any of the label's other recent releases. ~ Dave Thompson
Reissue of legendary bootleg of the Stooges recorded in Detroit in 1973 with the Asheton brothers on bass & drums, James Williamson & Scott Thurston on keyboards, guitar & harmonica. CD 2 features more obscure, totally unreleased material, 3 tracks of the pre Williamson period recorded in 69 & 70 and the rest recorded at Max's Kansas City in 73. Includes bonus interview with Iggy from St Loius, MO on Aug. 17th 1973. Digipak. Revenge. 2004. My Girl Hates My Heroin/Live & Rare Music My Girl Hates My Heroin/Live & Rare Review

The revved-up blues of yore are still here ("Devil in the Woods," "Fire of Love"), but wild-child singer Jeffrey ...

My Girl Hates My Heroin/Live & Rare music CDs
$17.59 Iggy & the Stooges must have signed one of the most faulty recording contracts ever known to man during the early `70s -- as countless compilations have surfaced over the years of the same several songs the band was working on (as a successor to the 1973 rock `em sock `em classic, Raw Power). Although no proper studio recordings for the planned album were ever committed to tape (thanks to rampant drug use, Pop's deteriorating mental health, and most importantly, no record label interest), rough demo and live recordings of the tracks had survived, serving as the basis for such collections as Studio Sessions (Pilot) and Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell (both of which almost duplicate the same track listing). Both titles mix in a few pre-Raw Power outtakes as well, and of the two, the latter has two more tracks, "Tight Pants" (an early version of "Shake Appeal") and "Scene of the Crime." The quality of the tracks (both sonically and compositionally) vary, but even in rough ...
