Newley's career as a pop star came as something of a surprise following his success as a stage and film actor. Max Tell As a writer, storyteller, and educator, Robert Stelmach, a.k.a. Max Tell, has toured the Pacific Rim five times. In 1992 his play, Wild Rose and Half Step, was nominated for a Jessie Richardson Theatre Award for best Children's Play of the Year. In 2007, his story, Fiezo, the book Burro was runner-up for the Writing for Children Competition, sponsored by the Writers' Union of Canada. Robert (Max Tell) Stelmach has two adult children.
