Follow-up to the Xbox Live mech shooter, developed by Day 1. In addition to the BattleMechs from the first game, MechAssault 2 lets you pilot an entirely new line of combat vehicles including Tanks, Vertical TakeOff and Landing Craft, and BattleArmor. In the original game, battle armor was a small jet-powered craft that offered minimal armor and firepower. Its usefulness on the battle field was limited to its slight advantage in maneuverability. In the sequel, the BattleArmor enables players to climb buildings, ride the Vertical Landing Craft and most importantly, hijack enemy Mechs. The ability to take over enemy equipment is bound to add an interesting new level of strategy to online battles. The game also features a deeper single-player campaign with a more interesting storyline and greater NPC interaction. mechassault is a overall good game but you spend to much time using turrets and the battlearmor.

 still kicks a** but not like the first
You get to trash buildings and other mechs and wreck havok just like the first. Which is good! The BIG problem is you spend too much time outside the mech in the crappy jumpsuit. Why make a game based on giant robots, if you can't be the giant robot? It takes away from the story and makes it into a watered down HALO 2.

left thumb stick: move forward, move back, strafe left, strafe right, use jump jets or control pov missile
A-button: battle armor claw, pick up vtol cargo, grab another mech, hitch on to mech or vtol
X-button: tank zoom view
white-button: view game tips or player options
right trigger: fire active weapon, drop pilot bomb or remotely detonate pilot bomb
back-button: back or cancel.
Mech Assault 2 : Lone Wolf PH Hints In the mission There's Gonna be a Jail Break, instead of blowing up the comm tower at the beginning of the level, hide behind the tower when the mech walks toward you.
While the mech is not looking, walk halfway down the hill (watch for the enemy tank) and plant a demo charge. Run back behind the comm tower and the mech will walk on the charge and blow up. You can do this routine on the successive mechs and vehicles if you like and save a few scrapes when you get back into your mech.
