50 Number Ones album Product Description
50 Number Ones album by George Strait was released Oct 05, 2004 on the MCA Nashville label. From the early 1980s onward, there's been no greater champion of traditional country-music values in the mainstream (and none more successful) than George Strait. 50 Number Ones songs Like a virtual Ramones of country, he's remained unshakeable in his devotion to a straightforward, no-frills aesthetic of which he's become the unquestioned standard-bearer. This populist stance has accordingly resounded with huge numbers of listeners; if you thought it was impressive when Alabama released a hits collection containing 40 Number One country hits, try Strait's 50 NUMBER ONES on for size. 50 Number Ones album In keeping with Strait's singular approach, the passage of time is difficult to notice here. 50 Number Ones CD music From the wistful 1982 lost-love tale "Fool Hearted Memory" to the one new song, 2004's "I Hate Everything," Strait's amiable mix of honky-tonk, Western Swing, and bar-room ballads is remarkably consistent, providing the perfect framework for each sentiment just as comfortably as his warm, inviting voice serves the songs. Unlike many artists' best-of collections, there's no chronological peak beyond which the hits stop coming; 50 NUMBER ONES contains just as many latter-day smashes as early chart-toppers, a testament to the remarkable staying power and clarity of vision that make George Strait a star. 50 Number Ones CD music is a 2-disc set with 51 songs. ...See Full Description

George the Grait!!! 50 Number Ones album I gotta be honest with you I'm suprised that "Amarillo By Morning" and "Marina Del Rey" weren't number ones, but I guess those were early in his career before he was as well known! IMHO, those two cuts are much better than some of his latter day number ones; albeit it's all good! Well that said and apart from that this is an excellent cd! I don't worry so much about George's songs being edited a bit because his songs are usually so short anyway that it would hardly be noticeable to the casual country fan such as myself. I think he's probably the Elton John of Country! Probably the greatest male vocalist the Country genre has ever produced. Ironically his vocal quality is nothing spectacular, but the simplicity of his songs coupled with spectacular lyrics, arrangements and musicianship just put him over the top time and time again! Plus his songs have staying power! Cuts twenty years old sound as good, and better, today as they did then. By mheinen3 (Oklahoma City, OK, USA)
Best CD Ever! 50 Number Ones CD music George Rocks... or Country Rocks! Anyway, who cares if they cut a couple secons out... would you rather have not all those songs on there (Cause they're all great!:D). or would you have about 46 hits. You need to put all of them on!... This is the best CD ever!... FYI MCA was right to do that. By Colt (Canada)
Best of the best 50 Number Ones music CDs George Strait is one of best country singers out there. This cd is amazing because it has all his number 1's. I would highly recommend getting this cd! By Levette (Frostproof,FL,USA)
There's No one better! I love this CD. It has all my favorite songs on it, and it's easier to listen to in my truck without having to change cds all the time. The only two songs missing from it are Amarillo by Mornin' and The Cowboy Rides Away. By Whitney (OK, USA)
