Once Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews The best rock album I've heard in many years I first found out about Nightwish while listening to a Music channel on Digital Cable. I heard the song come on, and I literally dropped what I was doing to see what the song was, and who performed it. Turns out, it was "Nemo" from Nightwish's "Once" album.
This album features a fantastic mixture of metal rhythms, exhilatering guitar riffs and stunning vocals with quite poignant lyrics that seem to have religious undertones.
I love this album. I would highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in Nightwish, I believe it's their best album. Submitted by invincible_irvine (Irvine, California) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 3 found this helpful.

Max Creativity Wonderfully creative combination of Symphony, Opera, and Metal. Well written songs with a good variety from very hard to soft and soulful.
Big productions with, obviously, a lot of thought, effort, and sweat. Well played, beautifully sung, and produced and mixed with the best! Submitted by garyh (Wichita, KS, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Once
$12.79 Representing a classic case of delayed fame, Italian goth-metal act Lacuna Coil broke into the American music consciousness via a much talked-about showing on the Ozzfest 2004 second stage, nearly two years after the release of their third album, COMALIES. Similar to its American counterparts Evanescence, this European sextet features the dual vocals of Cristina Scabbia and her male counterpart, Andrea Ferro. Despite the liberal amounts of keyboards added to the mix, guitarists Cristiano Migliore and Marco Biazzi more than hold their own, pumping choppy riffs into the 1980s-sounding "Self Deception" and the simmering opener "Swamped." What makes Lacuna Coil so unique in an often musically ...

Once
$13.79 2003 album from the female fronted Finnish symphonic goth/metal super group. 10 tracks including, 'Bless The Child', 'End Of All Hope' & 'Dead To The World'. Century Media.
Possibly the biggest success story in the history of Finnish heavy metal, Nightwish celebrated their second chart-topping album in their homeland with 2002's Century Child, which eventually collected numerous awards and went double platinum (60,000 units in Finland) within a year of release. The group's fourth LP overall, Century Child wisely repeated its predecessors' winning characteristics: symphony-enhanced power metal laced with accessible pop sensibilities (mostly straightforward song structures and ...

$18.59 Finland's Nightwish are widely hailed as progenitors of the symphonic metal style. With DARK PASSION PLAY (the group's sixth full-length), Nightwish introduce their new vocalist, Swedish-born Anette Olzon, to the fold. While Olzon proves to be a more than capable operatic siren, Marco Hietala's vocals are far more prominently featured than on past Nightwish efforts, giving the album a double shot of vocal operatics.
Nightwish: Anette Olron (vocals); Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards); Marco Hietala (bass guitar); Jukka Nevalainen (drums).
Personnel: Andy Findon (flute).
