| | Ready, Set, Go With Patti Page CD Patti Page Discography of CDs
Born Clara Anne Fowler in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Patti Page received her first break while in high school when she performed on Tulsa station KTUL. The Page Milk Company sponsored the radio program which gave rise to her professional singing name Patti Page. Throughout the 1950s Patti Page sold more records than any other female vocalist but admittedly the majority of her hits were “novelty” numbers (“The Doggie In The Window”, “Mister And Mississippi”, “Mockingbird Hill” etc) and critics often dismissed her ability, failing to recognise that given a “standard” tune Page was a more than capable singer.
Personnel: Patti Page (vocals).
Ensembles: Eddie Getz's Orchestra; George Barnes Quartet; Mitch Miller's Orchestra; Ray Ward's Modulators; D'Artega's Orchestra; Harry Geller's Orchestra.

| | Animals Retrospective CD (2004)
Ready, Set, Go With Patti Page songs
$15.09 Today the most recognition the Animals get is "House of the Rising Sun" being played on oldies radio, but in the mid-1960s they were a powerful part of the British Invasion, often reckoned on a par with the Beatles, the Stones, and the Who. Like those bands, the Animals had strong roots in blues and R&B, but, in their original incarnation, they stayed closer to those roots than their peers did. This definitive compilation, masterfully ...

Ready, Set, Go With Patti Page songs
$13.05 After all these years, some jazz historians continue to lament the end of the big-band era; they continue to remind listeners how much of a thrill it can be to hear 20 or 25 seasoned jazz musicians playing together. But there is also a lot to be said for intimacy in jazz -- the sort of intimacy that serves bassist Ray Brown and Brazilian guitarist Laurindo Almeida delightfully well on Moonlight Serenade. Recorded in Germany in 1981, this session finds Brown and Almeida forming an acoustic duo -- and the two of them enjoy a consistently strong rapport ...
