Dick Jonas Family Album 1 CD (2009)
Hank Locklin album for sale A number of the songs written and sung by fighting men and women are not suitable for family reunions and other similar gatherings, especially where children are present.
Some warrior songs are laced with oaths, profanity, and adult innuendo. It's known as the 'warrior's vernacular.
' The language originates in desperate human reactions incited by the wrenching realities of combat.
Quoting from insert panel 3 of the Rowdies album, "If you are among 'them what's been shot at' you'll know how readily oaths and profanity spring to the lips in the heat of battle."For American warriors in all generations, it has always been important to share with family of all ages what it's like to do battle with the enemy. One way we do that is by singing warrior songs. But it is polite, in some settings, to be judicious in choice of terms so as not to offend sensitive ears. Johnny Sparrow Sparrow's Flight CD (1991)
Hank Locklin songs Johnny Sparrow's sides for the Gotham label, including six previously unreleased numbers and six previously unissued outtakes. "Sparrow's Flight" isn't here, although "Sparrow's Flight No. 2" is on hand. "Sparrow In the Barrel," which he'd originally cut for National and turned up as the B-side of his Gotham debut "When Your Lover Has Gone," features a strikingly dark solo from Sparrow. "Sparrow's Flight No. 2" soars effortlessly. "Boudoir Blues" shows Sparrow doing a distinctly '40s brand of jump blues, which comes off extremely well -- with superbly aggressive playing on his part -- but could hardly have been commercially appealing at the time. And "Serenade to Satchmo" is a loving tribute to Sparrow's ex-boss, with both flute and tenor sax solos. ~ Bruce Eder
Johnny Sparrow And His Bows And Arrows includes: Johnny Sparrow (saxophone).
Includes liner notes by Dave Penny.

Paul Hale Memories And Me CD (1993)
Hank Locklin songs A competent but unimpressive debut album from Paul Hale, a fledgling country-pop singer trying to follow in Randy Travis's footsteps. Hale can carry a tune, but his voice is unremarkable and the album is undercut by weak original material. However, a couple of decent tunes do pop up ("Trouble in Mind" and "Who Did This To You") and show that Hale might indeed learn how to record a fully successful country album. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
