| | No Doubt Everything In Time CD No Doubt Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Previously only available as part of BOOM BOX, No Doubt's EVERYTHING IN TIME is exactly what its subtitle (B-SIDES, RARITIES, REMIXES) suggests--a collection of tracks that either didn't make it onto the band's official albums or were created for non-album purposes (i.e. movie soundtracks, etc.). Luckily, none of these recordings are throwaways; all are up to the standards of No Doubt's major releases and powerfully showcase the Southern California ensemble's trademark mix of ska, punk, and New Wave sounds.
Several songs reveal the quartet's more experimental side. "Cellophane Boy" recalls the Beatles' SGT. PEPPER'S-era work, employing psychedelic Mellotron swirls and bouncy, McCartney-esque bass work from Tony Kanal. "New Friend" is one of the most hip-hop-oriented tracks the group has done, and wouldn't sound out of place on a Beyonce or Usher album. "You're So Foxy," on the other hand, brings Gwen Stefani's Debbie Harry influence to the fore, its propulsive disco rhythms strongly recalling Blondie's classic "Heart of Glass." Topping off the rarities section is the grand, mid-tempo Elvis Costello tune "I Throw My Toys Around" (from THE RUGRATS MOVIE), which features an appearance by the distinguished author himself.
No Doubt: Gwen Stefani (vocals); Tom Dumont (guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Adrian Young (drums, percussion, background vocals).
Additional personnel: Ms. Dynamite, Sweetie Ireie, Elvis Costello (vocals); Stephen Bradley (trumpet, keyboards, background vocals); Phil Jordan (trumpet); Gabrial McNair (trombone, keyboards, background vocals).

No Doubt Everything In Time Songs Everything In Time Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) This Broke My Heart of Glass My heart was broken when the enhanced CD section of this album didn't work on my computer. because the songs are so great. I was confused as to all the blondie references in reviews i read, but my mom (a blondie fan) said they were right. I had just not heard that material. Since "Your'e So Foxy" is one of my favorites, I am highly anticipating my mother breaking out her old vinyls and turntable. on another note, Almost every song on this just screamed, "RETURN OF SATURN!" which is my favorite album of all time.
"Beauty Conest" is my anthem, in relating to my body-conscious anxieties. Although, it could do without the grading, unnaturally happy voice of Stefani's niece, Madeline, barely intelligably informing me that, her "vanity's a mess."
The last 2 tracks on the album were a bust. I was shocked to hear the two mutilated versions of the beautifully simple "Rock Steady." But then again, I cried for literally 1 1/2 hours when my copy of the song skipped tragically.
I am a hardcore No Doubt fan and you would not believe the extreme measures I take to express my love for the band, though I am only fourteen years old. Submitted by blueljg692 (Green Mountain, Iowa, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$6.19 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. | | No Doubt Singles 1992-2003 CD (2003)
Everything In Time music CDs
$10.45 No Doubt's strength has always been in its singles, from the band's early phase as a ska/punk-pop ensemble to their latter-day status as pop chart-toppers. This 15-song collection features all of the band's hits, which are sequenced remarkably well. Gwen Stefani and the boys kick things off in an appropriately energetic fashion with their breakthrough single, "Just a Girl." The 1980s-influenced keyboard line of this jaunty track leads wonderfully into the group's deft cover of Talk Talk's '80s-pop classic "It's My Life," which sports a muscular, fuzzed-out bass backing and seems tailor-made for Stefani's plaintive vocals.
The mood shifts to a dancehall vibe with the ultra-catchy "Hey Baby," and the track listing ...
| | Gwen Stefani Love, Angel, Music, Baby CD (2004)
Everything In Time songs
$13.15 Historically, it's a tricky endeavor for the singer from an enormously successful band to embark on a solo career. Gwen Stefani, the glamorous vocalist for No Doubt, sidesteps the issue on her first solo album, LOVE, ANGEL, MUSIC, BABY, by largely eschewing the No Doubt sound. In its place, there's a strong emphasis on the R&B and hip-hop flavors that were hinted at in preceding No Doubt records. Towards that end, Stefani gamely enlists the assistance of Dr. Dre, the Neptunes, Andre 3000 of Outkast, and others, on an album that references everything from Japanese pop culture ("Harajuku Girls") to FIDDLER ON THE ROOF ("Rich Girl," featuring rapper Eve). Sensual R&B rhythms, frenetic hip-hop beats, and yes, the occasional ...

| | Mel Martin Just Friends CD (2007)
Everything In Time CD music
$13.25 Released many years after the fact in time for the 2007 Benny Carter centennial, this swinging 1994 live encounter at Yoshi's in Oakland consists of outtakes from a Mel Martin tribute to Carter on Enja released at the time. But that's for the buffs and scholars to sort out, for these are vastly enjoyably prime cuts in their own right, going beyond the status of mere historical document. From the evidence here, as well as the gigs he played at the Hollywood Bowl during this period, Carter at 87 was still a monster of an alto player -- fluid, inventive, more unpredictable than ever. The rhythm section is headed by another jazz original, Roger Kellaway, who adds his own brand of keyboard unpredictability with one foot firmly planted inside the tradition. Carter's solo on "Perdido" is witty and imaginative, not at all ossified by time or routine, while Kellaway goes to town with his own offbeat slants and clusters. Carter goes with and against the pulse of "Secret Love," never losing the thread of the argument, and Martin picks up on Carter's ...
