| | Sandra Luna Tango Varon CD - Import Sandra Luna Discography of CDs
TANGO VARON is Sandra Luna's international debut. This 2004 album reflects Luna's dedication to traditional tango styles, though the passion and intensity she brings to her music is wholly unique. Drawing from a wide range of influences, including Edith Piaf, Luna sets out on this release to create music that is both dramatic yet whimsical.
Accompanied by bandonean, and, on certain tracks, acoustic guitar and strings, Luna infuses each lyric with great zeal. Sung entirely in Spanish, these lyrics focus on themes of love, sorrow, and, in the case of "Carritos Cartoneros," poverty on the streets of Buenos Aires. Moreover, the title track, "Tango Varon" recounts the actual history and development of the tango. Overall, Luna takes the listener on a powerful journey through many phases, from brooding to proud, dejected to triumphant. The classic tango "La Canción Desesperada" is given a particularly fervent rendering here. On this selection, Luna interprets this piece with all the vigor of a fiery torch singer. This is powerful music, performed with great precision and virtuosity. Sandra Luna Tango Varon Songs | 1. | Tango Varon |

Tango Varon album
$12.09 The very first moments of Rodrigo y Gabriela's sophomore effort, 11:11, hit the listener cold in the face, and not just because of the amazing guitar playing. Sure, it's there, but it's what anyone who heard the duo's astonishing debut would expect. No, it's the sound of the record: immediate, forceful, crystalline; it's in-your-face compelling and impossible to ignore. 11:11 features 11 new compositions, dedicated to 11 musical artists (not all guitarists, either) who have had an influence on the duo. Recorded in Ixtapa, Mexico, the set was self-produced with the exception of two cuts, which were co-produced with John Leckie. Throughout, Rodrigo y Gabriela showcase their metal chops as part and parcel of their Mexican guitar heritage. They've not simply melded the two, but have created an entirely different form of music for the acoustic guitar in the process. It's infectious and accessible, full of pathos, intensity, passion, and color.
Audio Mixer: Colin Richardson.
Arranger: Rodrigo y Gabriela.

$24.95 | | Curse Of Company Leo Magnets Joins A Gang CD (2008)
Tango Varon CD music
$33.75 Australian 2009 release. Singer/songwriter, designer and actor David Wiley Rennick, best known for producing two internationally celebrated albums as part of Dappled Cities, has turned his hand to a blend of myth, music and storytelling with his least democratic work to date, The Curse Of Company. For it's creation, Rennick collaborated with the equally enigmatic talents of TheRedSunBand's Sarah Kelly (vocals), Mr. Bungle/Secret Chiefs 3's Danny Heifetz (drums, percussion), Jack Ladder (bass guitar) and Gerling's Burke Reid (co-producer, engineer). The music draws on Rennick's multi-platform artistic practices to convey story on a massive scale, mixing the Psychedelic influence of The Velvet Underground with Neil Young's scalding Alt-Rock and Folk, and drawing on classic, coming-of-age storytelling that recalls a dizzying mix of The Odyssey, Blade Runner, 2001 and Apocalypse Now.
