definitive break through
I always found recordings at CBS Studios from this period a bit stiff (compare Janis Joplin, for example). It is as if they were recorded from to far away.

EXCELLENT AS USUAL
THE CLASSIC FIRST ALBUM PLUS THE ENTIRE WOODSTOCK SET. THE CHEMISTRY IN THIS BAND WAS WHAT SEPARATED IT FROM THE COUNTLESS KNOCKOFFS IN THE '70'S.

VIVA SANTANA ! It's like livin la vida loca!!
Simply an excellent 1969 album debut by Carlos Santana's band. It includes my favorite song like "Black Magic Woman". I really enjoy the three live bonus tracks on this digitally remastered CD from woodstock.
