Headliners Upstaged by Opening Acts This is a wonderful documentation of the late 60's in England and a thriving music scene; so good a scene that the Stones are a let down by the end of the performance. By Darryl Bennett (Ottawa, Canada)
The Rock-N-Roll Circus The times were on full throttle, it was when music had really changed the world. The Beatles were coming to an end and it was ever so obvious with the presence of Yoko the bird caller. By dianemcarthur (Tooele, Utah USA)
bout time A gem, nearly lost when the stones hesitated to put this out. The only flaw in the stone is Yoko, but we know where John is Yoko is. By kim (ofallon mo)
circus peanuts For any rock-n-roll historian type this is a must have. The Who at their best... Jethro Tull in all its manic lunacy... great set by Taj Mahal and where else ya gonna see John Lennon doing Yer Blues - with Eric Clapton and Keith Richards playing alongside! Talk about a super-group! Although I have seen the Stones do Sympathy for the Devil on stage it does not compare to what Mick does with it on this DVD. By Mister Mike (columbus ohio)
Who's Circus Brilliant perfomance by The Who. Stones were right to can the film. When the movie comes out on TV I watch the entire show up until the StoneD? come out. By adrvar (el paso, tx, usa)

Led Zeppelin / Robert Plant Led Zeppelin - DVD DVDs (2003) Top Seller
Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus DVD for sale Very few Led Zeppelin performances were caught on camera during the band's life-span, but the footage that has been preserved for posterity is collected on this release. With a running time of over five-and-a-half hours, this is the definitive word on Zep's global stage-straddling performances. The footage is taken from London's Royal Albert Hall in January 1970, London's Earls Court in May 1975, Knebworth in August 1979, and Madison Square Garden in July 1973. Guitarist Jimmy Page has taken great care to restore, remix, and remaster the sound from these shows, providing a visual and sonic assault that offers indisputable proof of Led Zeppelin's reputation as a rock & roll behemoth. Additional footage comes in the shape of several television interviews, a bootleg shot of the band performing "Heartbreaker," behind the scenes footage from Knebworth, and a whole lot more.
This 2-DVD boxed set features a variety of live+ programming. Disc 1 includes Live at the Royal Albert hall, 1969, also Danish TV 1969, French TV 1969, Super Show 1969, a promo clip, some bootleg; disc 2 features Splodge Edit live 1972, Madison Square Garden 1973, Earls Court 1975, Knebworth 1979, Australian TV, interviews, promos.

Animals Retrospective CD (2004) Top Seller
Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus video Today the most recognition the Animals get is "House of the Rising Sun" being played on oldies radio, but in the mid-1960s they were a powerful part of the British Invasion, often reckoned on a par with the Beatles, the Stones, and the Who. Like those bands, the Animals had strong roots in blues and R&B, but, in their original incarnation, they stayed closer to those roots than their peers did. This definitive compilation, masterfully assembled by the ABKCO think tank of Teri Landi and Jody Klein, shows the tough, uncompromising use to which the Animals put their American influences. John Lee Hooker's "Boom Boom" is recast as a raw garage rocker glazed with Alan Price's sinister organ riffs, and the aforementioned "House of the Rising Sun" is transformed from a traditional folk lament to an urgent, ominous piece of churning tumult.
Of course, the group skillfully expanded those roots (with the help of some great writers), and turned out some classic working-class-rebel anthems ("We Gotta Get Out of This Place," "It's My Life"). By '67, the original lineup disbanded, and Eric Burdon led a new batch of Animals into a psychedelic West Coast sound ("San Franciscan Nights," "Monterey"). The Animals may not be given pride of place in the rock history books, but RETROSPECTIVE shows that they fully deserve it.

Cream Cream: Royal Albert Hall DVDs (2005) Top Seller
Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus film Cream's set of reunion shows in May 2005 was a justly hot ticket. The legendary rock trio of Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton--two jazz musicians and a blues guitarist--was one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, even though they played together for less than three years. They brought their psychedelic fusion of blues and pop into the mainstream with albums like FRESH CREAM and WHEELS OF FIRE; Clapton, long regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, did some of his best work on those albums. London's Royal Albert Hall, the site of what was supposed to be Cream's final performance back in 1968, was also the venue for their reunion show. Sounding as if they'd been on vacation for a few weeks instead of disbanded for well over three decades, Cream brought the house down with a series of four shows, all of which are excerpted here. The band performs classics like "Spoonful," "Born Under a Bad Sign," "Sunshine of Your Love," and "White Room," among more than 20 others. Also featured are interviews with Baker, Bruce, and Clapton.
The historic May 2/3/4/5/6, 2005 reunion of Rock 'n' Roll's first Supergroup: Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, on the same stage where, in 1968, they had completed what was thought to be their final performance. Includes a full set of 18 live performance tracks, along with 8 alternate takes and recent interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton. Filmed in High Def.

Beatles Capitol Albums, Vol. 1 CDs (2004) Top Seller
Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus review Includes both stereo and mono versions of the USA-only albums MEET THE BEATLES (1964), THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM (1964), SOMETHING NEW (1964), and BEATLES '65 (1964), and a 60 page booklet including rare photos and select quotes from John, Paul, George and Ringo.
All tracks have been digitally mastered using 24-bit technology.
Although America wasn't the first to catch on to the Beatles, it certainly gave the Fabs a worldwide stage from which to launch their pop music invasion. During the space of 12 months in 1964, Capitol released four Beatles LPs that reshuffled various British Parlophone LPs, EPs, and singles. The result of this rejiggering was four unique titles that, along with those famed Ed Sullivan performances, were the introduction to this global phenomenon for millions in the United States. For the 40th anniversary of these releases, this 2004 set represents the first time these titles were ever available on CD, and features both mono and stereo (or "duophonic") versions of all the songs.
Because of the Beatles' enthusiasm, high standards, and synergy, these evergreen tracks crackle and burn, guaranteeing giddy, joyous memories for some, while also enlisting new fans. Among the many classics are the groundbreaking single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand," and other romantic rockers ("I Saw Her Standing There," "She Loves You," "All My Loving"), as well as cover tunes ("Long Tall Sally," "Roll Over Beethoven") and lesser-known songs ("Any Time at All," "I'll Follow the Sun"). The boys had been tirelessly working the nightclub trenches for a number of years prior to these albums, but, in truth, John, Paul, George, and Ringo were just getting started.

Mick Jagger / Gram Parsons / Keith Richards / Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter DVD (1970)
Rolling Stones - Rock and Roll Circus DVD for sale This documentary of the Rolling Stones' 1969 US tour has become a legendary, harrowing symbol of the tragic demise of the "Peace and Love" era. After a successful tour across the United States, the Rolling Stones gave a free December concert at Altamont Speedway in California with the Grateful Dead (not seen performing), Ike and Tina Turner, Jefferson Airplane, and the Flying Burrito Brothers (all seen performing one song each). The poorly planned show was fraught with problems from its inception. The band unwisely selected the Hells Angels motorcycle club to provide security, and after the pre-existing chaos was fueled by very visible alcohol and drug abuse, the bikers resorted to violence to keep the stoned, restless, and often naked crowd in line. The result: dozens of injuries and the on-screen stabbing of a young African-American man (during "Sympathy for the Devil," no less) by one of the concert's "staff security."
In a manipulative but effective move, the Maysles brothers and Charlotte Zwerin filmed Mick Jagger in the editing room witnessing the on-camera murder for the first time. But aside from that unexpected drama, the film also works as a rock-and-roll document, capturing the band at their most relaxed, intoxicating, and electrifying.
This 91 minute DVD film by the Maysles, called the greate st rock film ever made, features the Infamous Altamont conc ert from the Stones' 1969 U.S. tour.. Songs include Jumpin g Jack Flash, Satisfaction, You Gotta Move, more. A lso material by Flying Burrito Bros., Jefferson Airplane, & Tina Turner. The DVD includes Altamont stills, trailers, a udio commentary by the directors, previously censored foota ge, deleted songs Little Queenie, Oh Carol, Stray Ca t Blues, lots more.
