| Ideas Of Reference Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Amazing tech metal album. Forget Dillinger. Forget The End.
Well, don't forget them, but put them aside for the moment. This CD is nonstop tech metal from start to finish. The energy doesn't stop on this cd, and will bear repeated listenings. With some of the most innovative guitar playing around today, combined with furious drums and a screeching vocalist, I believe this cd is my pick for "album of the year".
Combine that with a great live show, and you have one talented band. If you're a fan of metal, you *must* buy this cd. Submitted by xZAO99x (Nashville, TN, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Buy it !!! I think this is the best "metalcore" release ever. It think D.E.P. ' s "Miss machine" was superb, but this is going to wreck your neck !!! The whole music on this album is a one big solo !!! Really worth buying, but only if you are a sophisticated listener. Submitted by Gniewo (Czaplinek, Polska) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Psyopus Kicks Ass!!! Almost a math metal almost death or insanity, a great album with great lyrics. (who said there was anything wrong with Death Metal, whats better? Hardcore lyrics <--queers) Maybe listening to some death would help you! hurry buy some ORIGIN!!!! Submitted by Dark_star_55 (Salt Lake Shitty, UT, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Awesome This is a very very VERY good cd. The guitar playing on this cd is rediculous. Also, the guy has an awesome voice. The only problem with this cd is that the lyrics to some of the songs are kind of stupid Deathmetalish. Submitted by denis (warwick, Ny) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Black Dahlia Murder Unhallowed CD (2003)
Ideas Of Reference CD music
$9.75 Unhallowed, the debut full-length from Detroit, MI, quintet the Black Dahlia Murder is a well-executed slice of melodic death/black metal in the tradition of Swedish masters Dissection and At the Gates. They've clearly studied those bands, as is reflected in the racing, dual-harmonized guitar riffs that form the foundation of this album. The vocals are a little different, though, consisting of a high-pitched shriek that's complemented by a lower, more standard death metal growl. Also of note is the drumming, which is pretty swift, even by this genre's standards. This band has a lot of youthful energy and chops and has the potential to do something great. ~ William York

| | Necrophagist Epitaph CD (2004)
Ideas Of Reference songs
$12.65 The first album by Necrophagist, 1999's Onset of Putrefaction, was actually a completely solo recording made by Turkish guitar prodigy Muhammed Suicmez, who also handled the vocals, bass guitar, and drum programming. Slowly but steadily, that album became legendary in the death metal underground for its over-the-top technical excess and death-defying guitar heroics. As a result of that notoriety, Suicmez was able to put together a full four-piece band of live musicians with enough skill and endurance to play his difficult, fast, and intricate compositions. Epitaph is the first album by this full lineup, and as expected, it features an almost nonstop assault of complex, technical death metal with an emphasis on Suicmez's lead guitar. And indeed, on a technical level, Necrophagist outpaces just about every ...

| | W A S P Still Not Black Enough CD (1996) Remastered
Ideas Of Reference music CDs
$9.99 Still Not Black Enough is the second and last record employing well-traveled hired gun Bob Kulick while guitarist Chris Holmes was out of the fold. Between him and percussionist Frankie Banali, it's not surprising that this and the preceding Crimson Idol seem more like Blackie Lawless solo discs, and his vision for the band took W.A.S.P. away from their shock rock foundation to a more thoughtful and nearly conceptual plateau. Unfortunately, the results are mixed. Tender balladry, such as the piano-led "Keep Holding On" and "I Can't," the latter with Lawless assuming a weak falsetto, confused and alienated fans. In spite of inspired musicianship and a few fist-pumping moments ("Goodbye America" and "Black Forever"), Still Not Black Enough implodes upon its own ambition, though the band's subsequent calculated return to blood-and-guts imagery helps one appreciate the effort if nothing else. ~ Brian O'Neill

Ideas Of Reference CD music
$9.59 Following the release of 1986's heavy metal classic PEACE SELLS BUT WHO'S BUYING?, half of Megadeth's original line-up abruptly split. Guitarist Chris Poland and drummer Gar Samuelson parted, leaving the band in the hands of guitarist/singer Dave Mustaine and bassist Dave Ellefson. Despite the fact that the two remaining Megadeth members had become addicted to hard drugs, they wasted little time in finding replacements in drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young. This second lineup lasted just long enough to issue a third Megadeth album, 1988's SO FAR, SO GOOD, SO WHAT!
