| | George Thorogood 30th Anniversary Tour: Live CD George Thorogood Discography of CDs
Recorded on May 4, 2004, at the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, England, George Thorogood & the Destroyers sound as spirited and enthusiastic as they did 30 years ago playing bars in their Delaware hometown. While some naysayers might call the track listing repetitive, they obviously miss the point of Thorogood's live gigs to begin with. Hardcore Thorogood fans will wonder what happened to certain staples like "Move It On Over" or "I'm Wanted," but basically all of the tried and true showstoppers are included: "Bad to the Bone," John Lee Hooker's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer," Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love," and "I Drink Alone." George Thorogood & the Destroyers' 30th Anniversary Tour: Live is raucous, fun, and passionate, finding both band and audience having a great time. ~ Al Campbell

| | Mable John Stay Out Of The Kitchen CD (1993)
30th Anniversary Tour: Live CD music
$9.89 Relatively unknown outside the circle of soul fanatics, Mable John had one of the sultriest voices in her genre, and co-wrote some of the era's best, yet unheard, soul classics. Most notable of her material was her theme song "Able Mable," a bluesy finger-snapping piece reminiscent of "Fever," a single once recorded by her little brother Little Willie John.
It's remarkable that the song "Able Mable" or her other singles never pushed her to greater stardom. Coupling the suave of soul with the smokey physicality of blues, Mable John's vocal approach is virtually unmistakeable. Included on STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN are John's most notable singles for the Stax/Volt label, "Able Mable" and "Running Out." What makes the tracks even more remarkable is the impeccable playing by Stax regulars, guitarist Steve Cropper and drummer Al Jackson, Jr. STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN is a portrait of a timeless soul singer at her best.

They're baaaack! And they will make you believe the '90s never happened. The most beloved of the late-'70s/early-'80s "logo bands" has returned for its first album in 10 years, with its five-man lineup intact, and without making the mistakes of so many of its contemporaries on the rock revival circuit. Journey hasn't tried to hip things up in an attempt to sound current. It sticks to its strengths. And rock fans have ...
