Essentially an expanded version of TWELVE INCH SINGLES 1981-1984, Ministry's EARLY TRAX excludes "Cold Life" and its dub remix from the former release, but includes six additional tracks. The most celebrated song, of course, is the goth classic "Every Day Is Halloween," a fascinating track that effectively fuses the sonic palette of Depeche Mode's "People Are People" (and a small dose of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit") with the general theme of Johnny Cash's "The Man in Black." Along with the dance-floor-ready "All Day," EARLY TRAX also presents the sound collage of "Move" and the brooding "I'm Falling." Of course, the songs here represent a period long before Ministry frontman Al "Alien" Jourgensen donned a black cowboy hat and plugged in an electric guitar for the band's best-known, heavier-than-thou '90s incarnation. For fans of dark-tinted '80s music, this is the Ministry compilation to get.

Ministry Early Trax Songs Early Trax Music Review Average Rating: (2.8 out of 5 stars) great synth from back in the day... I thought every one already knew that Ministry was an 80's style synth/dance/industrial band before they were an ultra-distorted industrial metal band. Based on the barely readable french guy's review, I guess I am wrong.
Well they were...This Early Trax CD combines most of their Wax Trax era tracks including 12" b-sides and some unreleased songs making their first appearance on a CD.
I can't give it 5 stars though. Not every song here is a winner, add on the fact that its missing early Ministry songs like Cold Life as earlier mentioned by a previous reviewer. Its neither complete as well.
Still a good compilation for what it is with plenty of catchy dance tunes, good remaster job and worth the money for HARDCORE ministry fans who know what their early days were all about and for 80's synth/dance/industrial music fans. Good to round out your early Ministry collection... I'm not sure why Halloween or All Day are on here, but this is a good addition to round out your Ministry collection.
For those of you into Ministry post "Twitch", you wont like this. If you are into the hate filled distorted guitar heavy sound that Al has developed, you wont like this. But if you were into goth before goth was Marilyn Manson and other wacky heaviness, this is good history.
Get it. Submitted by david (Dallas, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

What is this? This is a nice companion to the earlier 12" Singles on Wax Trax, but it does not replace or improve on it. While they weren't that great, this CD is missing Cold Life, Cold Life Dub, and Primental. The unreleased tracks are just OK. Submitted by pciskowski (Memphis, TN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Early Trax CD music
$14.19 Ministry mainstays Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker were remarkably busy during the late 1980s and early '90s. In addition to releasing their best albums during this period--particularly the aggro-techno opus THE LAND OF RAPE AND HONEY and the fierce, guitar-laden THE MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO TASTE--the duo dabbled in many side projects, a number of which are collected here.
The swirling stomp of 1000 Homo DJs' take on Black Sabbath's "Supernaut" proved to be more conventionally "rock" than anything Jourgensen and Barker had recorded under the Ministry name, while the ...
| | Cure Three Imaginary Boys: Deluxe Edition CDs (1979) Remastered; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
Early Trax music CDs
$11.99 Package includes THREE IMAGINARY BOYS (1979) and RARITIES 1977-1979.
The 2004 US release of THREE IMAGINARY BOYS was a momentous event for stateside Cure fans, as it marked the first time the band's 1979 debut album had ever been available on CD in America. Equally enticing is the bonus disc containing '77-'79 demos, live tracks, and other rarities. The Cure's first US release was 1980's BOYS DON'T CRY, which replaced a number of TIB's tracks with previously non-LP singles, presenting a significantly different picture of the band.
Far from the cloudy, effects-drenched goth-pop sound that later became its trademark, the Cure is in stripped-down mode here, delivering fairly straight-ahead post-punk tunes suggestive of a less angst-ridden Joy Division or a funkless Gang of Four. The stark, rhythm-guitar-dominated sound makes excellent use of space, suggesting a familiarity with dub that's confirmed by the ...

If you ever observed (or were) a pale depressed-looking teenager dressed entirely in black, sitting in the corner scribbling frantically into a marble bound notebook, then you already understand the Cure. In the 1980s, the Cure provided the soundtrack for an entire generation of misfit toys, and if SEVENTEEN SECONDS was a wake-up call for the dispossessed, ...

Early Trax CD music
$12.69 Lyrical Sonz, a band that started from humble beginnings, started this journey back in 1999. Micah Ancheta of Oahu, and Stuart Nakai of Kauai, both met through mutual friends up in what most Hawaii folks are calling, "The Ninth Island". Las Vegas was where these two songwriters/musicians met and realized that there was some kind of chemistry between them. Backyard jam sessions quickly turned into on stage live performances all over the city. But as all young men do, Micah and Stuart had to follow their dreams and live their own lives, which unfortunately led them astray from their true calling. That of original composition and the potency of the written word all blending melodically together, made it possible for them to realize and accept their true potential, which was in fact, music. As the years passed and supposed "friends" left their sides, Hawaii seemed to be calling to both of them for personal reasons. Shortly after moving home, Stuart in 2005 and Micah in 2006, the lines of communication started opening up and talks of making an album began. It started out slow at first, both tentative about the others' new talents, but eventually it led to intense songwriting and groovy melody arrangements. The next ...
