Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re EERIE INDIANA was one of those critically lauded, highly original television series' that was never allowed the time to attract a large audience. But fortunately a dedicated fanbase has lobbied for this quirky, groundbreaking comedy series to be brought back to the realm of the watchable, hence this collection of all 19 episodes from the show. Following the misadventures of 13-year-old Marshall Teller (Omri Katz) and his buddy Simon (Justin Shenkarow), the town of Eerie, Indiana unveils a series of strange occurrences and mysterious phenomena that have been lurking in its midsts. Elvis Presley appears alive and well, a cure for the aging process has been found, and pets communicating with human beings through dental equipment are commonplace, leading the duo to experience some wonderfully inventive adventures. Established fans should be ecstatic to relive the show once again, and for the uninitiated looking for a quirky, teenage TWIN PEAKS-type show, EERIE INDIANA should prove more than satisfactory. Eerie, Indiana - The Complete Series Reviews: 4 stars out of 5 -- "This is an anarchic, rather grown-up 1991 kids' show, a sort of cut-price TWILIGHT ZONE with bags of charm."

Eerie, Indiana - The Complete Series Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Your new favorite DVD set!!! Eerie Indiana is a whole lot of Twilight Zone, Outer Limits and Ray Bradbury Theater, with a little Wonder Years thrown in. This has been one of my favorite shows since it came out!
The set is a little overpackaged [every disc has it's own case], but that's a minor detail. As I've been watching the set, I realized there were a few episodes I haven't even seen. And admittedly there are 2 or 3 lame and corny episodes like "Heart On A Chain" and "The Dead Letter".
But overall, the coolness and originality of the show will blow you away. Like "The Losers" where Marshall and Simon find out about the Bureau of the Lost, where lost and misplaced things go. And the great Halloween episode "Scariest Home Videos" where Simon's brother ends up in the tv, switching places with a mummy from an old horror movie. Eerie Indiana was way ahead of it's time.
The menus are well done and fit the show, and each episode has chapters which is handy. The picture is clear, but not like the newest movie on dvd. But I doubt the original source is any clearer, considering it was shot for tv in '91.
Do yourself a huge favor and buy this set, watch it and love it. [repeat last 2 steps often] Submitted by Creed (Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
"EERIE , INDIANA". Marvelously Inventive & Fun. EERIE INDIANA was produced by Joe Dante ( "Gremlins" ). It was such a marvelous & inventive show. But NBC scheduled it on Sunday nights opposite the CBS power-hitter, "60 Minutes." Also, it sometimes got delayed in it's time slot because of football games.
I knew that such a well-crafted & imaginative show as this would not last more than a single season. So I got as many episodes as I could on video.
After its cancellation, it had a brief run on "The Disney Channel". Any episodes I didn't get during its original run, I was now able to obtain. I soon had all 19 episodes of the show on 2 VHS tapes.
Rumors were flying around, for a while, about a 20th episode, concerning Marshall & Simon finding buried treasure ( which had a curse on it ), underneath an old house.
But, though this episode might well have been written, it , apparently was never produced.
What a fantastic show "EERIE INDIANA" was ! It's not surprising that the show developed a small, but very loyal 'cult following'.
The popularity of this 'one season wonder' is obvious, now that it has been released on DVD. I bought 2 copies. One for myself, and one to give as a Christmas present for a friend. He was a big fan of the show, too.
In one episode, titled, "Reality Takes a Holiday" , Marshall is seen roaming around the set for the show & everyone is calling him "Omri". Omri Katz starred in the series as "Marshall Teller".
This was after he had played "J.R. Ewing's son, "John Ross" for 12 years on "Dallas". Omri said, in a press release, that he had learned a lot from "Dallas" star, Larry Hagman.
Bravo & Congrats that this incredibly imaginative show has found a new life on DVD !!!

Veerie Good! The original reason I bought Errie Indiana was for nostalgic purposes, it took me back to my school days when I used to watch it over the summer break. I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it now, where else will you find a town with ghost, UFO's and Elvis in residence! It's very funny and value for money. :) Submitted by stuart (Staffordshire, England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
For the love of Eerie! This series is especially a special one for me because my father played Elvis in the series, and I as a 17 year old was so proud of him! The show was ingenious and I cried for two days when the show was cancelled right before it really started to explode. Very few people knew about the show and it started on Fox! But it did have a cult and family following that is so special to me even to this day and I cant wait to finally have dad and Omri in my DVD collection! So happy to have Eerie back again.
