Standard Screen; Soundtrack English Somehow Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson have managed to escape the "Bennifer" curse that plagues most celebrity couples. The world seems to actually like them. Perhaps this is because they are actually married and what's more, have stayed together long enough for several seasons of their hit reality show. While the premise of following two married pop-stars sounds potentially nauseating, the resulting NEWLYWEDS series is actually quite entertaining. Aside from being rich, good-looking, and famous, Nick and Jessica seem to be nice, normal people (that viewers can relate to). But what makes the couple most likeable is their openness. These newlyweds have earned the public's good graces precisely by letting them in.
Featuring the entire first season of NEWLYWEDS, this release documents the superstars' struggles to balance their growing careers with the stresses of marital life. Season one features classic "Jessica" moments like when she honestly mistakes Chicken of the Sea tuna for being actual chicken. When teased for this and similar comments, Simpson responded by embracing this "ditzy" humor as her hallmark, prompting suspicions that perhaps it is all an act. Act or no act, it is moments like these that give NEWLYWEDS its comedy and charm. Set off against one another, Nick and Jessica's personalities make for fun, entertaining television.  very funny/ good example of music business
the only reality show i watch is vh1
"surreal life"--i watch no regular
tv---i watch my movies--i haqve been
seeing bits and pieces of this---i
bought it because jessica simpson just
opens her mouth and i laugh--what is
she going to say next?--if it is staged
i do not care--if she is playing dumb/
she does it well---i love nick and his
looks he gives to her. i also enjoy
the inside business of their careers--
all i want to do is laugh---and this
makes me laugh

best show ever
i love the show and the dvd is a keepsake. i am sure when i grow up( i am 17) and have kids, my children will be watching it. it's so hilarious, and so what if shes ditzy? id rather be ditzy than slutty or anything else. shes not afraid to be herself and i wish everyone were like that
