| | Fabolous Real Talk CD Fabolous Discography of CDs
(60 Customer Reviews)
On Fabolous's third studio record, REAL TALK, he claims that there is much more to him than his string of radio-friendly singles might indicate. That's not to say that the New York City rapper doesn't serve up simple, ready-for-radio moments in abundance, but even the first single, "Breathe," with its Supertramp sample and unusual path to a stunning hook, reveals an artist with much more depth.
"Don't Stop Won't Stop," which follows the striking intro, sports a sinister, Geto Boys-style backdrop and lyrics that embrace the familiar trappings of guns, cars, women, and pride, but with unexpected flashes of Zen beyond the usual laid-back bearing. Fabolous goes the more straightforward route on "Tit 4 Tat" and "Baby," both certainly capable of lighting up the radio. However, the highlight of REAL TALK may be on the mid-album track "Church," where, with the aid of the ever-entertaining Charlie Murphy, Fabolous envisions himself a preacher, a man who can convert people with the power of the words in his arsenal. Fabolous possesses a mind brimming with phraseology, and he brandishes his skills with power and ease, even as he continues to develop, making for an intriguing record rich with high hopes for the future.

Another Fab Album Almost every song rocked, his best album is still street dreams & I would highly recomend it instead, but if you already got it & love it then this is also worth buying, if nothing else at least for the song "breathe" though I like the one with J-lo a lot too & a couple others as well. Purchase Real Talk CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Trick Daddy Thug Matrimony: Married To The Streets CD (2004)
Real Talk
$11.39 In the middle of "I Wanna Sang," Trick Daddy muses about how he "started off with a poem and turned it into a song." The track, off his sixth record, THUG MATRIMONY, is a sweet song of hope akin to Nas's "I Can;" it's infused with a gentleness certainly at odds with Trick Daddy's harsh, thuggish image, but this contrast and complexity is not unusual for the Miami rapper.
Considering his millions of records sold and his crossover airplay, Trick Daddy is sometimes overlooked as an immense talent and deep thinker. THUG MATRIMONY, however, may just be his STANKONIA. Stylistically, the record unfolds in a playful and highly unpredictable manner. Many of the samples are comfortably familiar, but twisted into unusual shapes, as Trick Daddy lets loose his steady, ...
| | T I Urban Legend CD (2004)
Real Talk
$10.09 With TRAP MUZIK, Georgia rapper T.I. boldly established himself as a young rapper to watch and a sought-after guest artist. As if to cement his stardom, T.I. opens his third record, URBAN LEGEND, with one of the most famous declarations in the history of hip-hop, Run-DMC's "I'm the kiiiing," building the assured track ("Tha King") around a sleek "Hit It Run" sample. On that song, T.I. wanders around the rap iconography of the South, ...
| | Mind Of Mannie Fresh CD (2004)
Real Talk
$12.65 On THE MIND OF MANNIE FRESH, Fresh avails himself admirably as a rapper, layering sweet and often provocative rhymes over a variety of backing tracks of his own conception. On the breakbeat-boasting and Whodini-esque "Nothing Compares to Love" and the Al B. Sure!-interpolating "How We Ride," Fresh reminds the listener he was around in the early days of hip-hop, conjuring up the feel of times past. Mostly, however, Fresh's ...

$11.99 Rule hits a high note early in the record on "Wonderful," a magnificent duet with another troubled soul, R. Kelly; here Kelly soars, and Ja Rule plays off of his singing to perfection. Ja Rule's loving street anthem "New York" boasts unforgettable ...

Real Talk
$10.39 THE EMINEM SHOW was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Album Of The
Year. "Without Me" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Record Of The Year and Best Male Rap Solo Performance.
This deluxe limited edition includes a bonus DVD containing previously unreleased footage and interview with Eminem.
As one of the most controversial figures in hip-hop history, Eminem can be forgiven for being somewhat self-obsessed. THE EMINEM SHOW's opening cut "White America" sums up the notorious rapper's self-defense by keenly observing that while the color of his skin has something to do with his widespread popularity it's also the reason his lyrics are examined so scrupulously by critics who otherwise wouldn't bother. "I could be one of your kids" he proclaims, getting right to the heart of the matter. Despite the abundance of introspection, Eminem doesn't back up a single step on any of the themes that made him such a hot property. He's still into glorifying violence, as on "Soldier" ...
