The focus is on professional pickpocket Franck Spadone (Stanislaw Merhar) and his co-horts Pablo (Antoine Fayard), and Bruno (Christophe Le Masne), who roam the streets looking for unsuspecting targets. When they rob a beautiful stripper in the Metro, Laura (Monica Bellucci), Spadone becomes instantly awestruck and infatuated with her. The club turns out to be a hotbed of underworld activity, where a gang war is being planned and Spadone becomes engulfed in the storm in an attempt to get to get closer to Laura. She is ordered by her sleazy boyfriend (Carlo Brandt) to seduce The work of a deft pickpocketing team forms the focus for the French thriller FRANCK SPADONE. Bruno (Christophe Le Masne) and Franck Spadone (Stanislas Merhar) are the team in question, running a seemingly infallible operation that nets them a princely sum day after day. Things go awry when Spadone falls for one of his victims, a radiant stripper named Laura (Monica Bellucci). But stripping brings some ties which the lusty libertine finds hard to deal with, most notably Laura's overbearing boss, Ferdinand (Carlo Brandt). Suddenly embroiled in Laura and Ferdinand's scheme to murder a local mobster, who takes a hefty share of the club's profits, Spadone finds himself sailing into deep criminal waters. Torn between his affections for Laura and a longing for his former, simpler life, Franck Spadone has to take a good, hard look at himself before deciding which course of action to take.

$10.09 Italian director Gabriele Muccino (THE LAST KISS) directs this tale of a modern family who is on the verge of unraveling. On the surface, the Ristuccia family appears to have it all: Carlo (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) has a well-paying, secure job; Giulia (Laura Morante) is getting more beautiful with age; 18-year-old Valentina (Nicoletta Romanoff) has dreams of dancing stardom; and 19-year-old Paolo (Silvio Muccino) has fallen in love. But, as is the case with most things in life, desperation and hopelessness lie just around the corner. When Carlo bumps into a former flame (Monica Bellucci), the floodgates of passion are opened. Meanwhile, the other characters must confront demons of their own. After a near-fatal tragedy, the family is finally forced to confront its downward spiral.
Muccino's bittersweet drama critically yet empathetically captures the lives of these tender souls. He uses sweeping Steadicam cinematography to reflect the swirling emotions within each character, and layers the picture with stacks of pop music. But Muccino's greatest talent lies in casting. As the conflicted Carlo, Bentivoglio shines, while Romanoff and ...

Thomas believes in keeping sexual gratification separate from love and finds true understanding and erotic bliss with Sabina (Lena Olin), a seductive and elusive artist. However, Thomas's understanding of love and commitment is challenged when he meets Tereza (Juliette Binoche), a sexually naive and innocent young woman who captures Thomas's fancy on an out-of-town business trip. When Tereza appears on his Prague doorstep, Thomas lets down his guard and allows the young woman to stay with him, breaking all his rules regarding the dangers of seductive entanglement. Despite his numerous affairs, Thomas falls deeply in love with Tereza, and they eventually marry. Sabina accepts Thomas's marriage to Tereza, but Tereza cannot accept Thomas's many lovers and is deeply hurt by her sly husband. Tereza's own sexual awakening and creative spirit is at the core of the film, as she is undeniably captivating to both Thomas ...
