This package includes a full length live CD and a 2 hour DVD containing a full length 2004 European concert, music videos, behind the scenes footage of the making of the tour, and the band at play. Hamish Hamilton directs this spectacular 14 camera shoot. A surprise Easter egg is included! Included is a previously unreleased track. The package is available in Amaray or Jewel case packaging.
In 2003, Evanescence scored a surprise hit with FALLEN by combining an intensely heavy, nu-metal sound with old-school goth visual/lyrical elements, and the quasi-operatic vocals of lead singer Amy Lee. The CD/DVD set ANYWHERE BUT HOME documents the band's non-stop touring schedule with in-concert takes on nine of FALLEN's 10 songs. In addition, the release includes a soaring, piano-based cover of Korn's 2002 hit "Thoughtless," and "Missing," a newly recorded studio effort that features moody vocals, dance beats, and a glockenspiel! Most tracks stick fairly close to their studio counterparts, but benefit from the added bombast, drama, and crowd interaction that a live recording affords. Of course, as on Evanescence's debut, the main attraction is Lee's voice, which is in fine form here--the singer belts out every word to the wildly enthusiastic Paris, France crowd with a mix of alt-rock melancholy and hard-rock power.
Evanescence: Amy Lee (vocals); Terry Balsalmo, Johnny LeCompt (guitar); William Boyd (electric bass); Rocky Gray (drums).

fresh sounds Their music kinda transcends. I hope this band does not break up. This is fresh rock n roll for the new time. They are amazing on stage. I definitely enjoyed this package. Submitted by unlearn_undone (dominica) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Anywhere But Home album
$13.39 The dissonant, trebly guitar noodling combined with detuned sub-riffing known as nu-metal sneaks into the always-evolving aggro of Living Sacrifice on the group's sixth release, The Hammering Process. Though perhaps considered a suspicious shift by their underground metal fans, this subtle transformation works for a unit used to combining the best elements of metal's many forms into new and original concoctions. In a dramatic overhaul of their lineup, founding members Bruce Fitzhugh (vocals, guitar) and Lance Garvin (drums) are joined by three former ESO ...
| | Dream Theater Scenes From A Memory CD (1999)
Anywhere But Home CD music
$13.09 "Metropolis Part I," a track featured on Dream Theater's breakthrough, IMAGES AND WORDS, left many progressive rock enthusiasts with what seemed like another unfinished chapter in a story never to be completed. Seven years and five albums later, Dream Theater returned to its majestic beginnings with METROPOLIS PART II--SCENES FROM A MEMORY. Keyboard virtuoso Jordan Rudess, who was a logical replacement for Derek Sherinian, revitalized the band's sound. Rudess's collaboration with guitarist John Petrucci and drummer Mike Portnoy stole the attention of Dream Theater fans in the instrumental project, LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT.
METROPOLIS PART II is an epic concept album that makes a powerful artistic ...
| | Living Sacrifice Conceived In Fire CD (2002)
Anywhere But Home music CDs
$13.49 Of all the metalcore bands that have come and gone over the span of the genre's history, Living Sacrifice has remained a band who never showed a sign of weakness. This is a band who, time and time again, release superior metal albums, always providing above-average albums over their decade as a band. Many proclaimed 2000's The Hammering Process as the group's ultimate release, and, in fact, one of the genre's best offerings that year. Those who doubted Living Sacrifice had the ability to deliver an album of that magnitude ever again, much less on the heels of The Hammering Process' surprising cult success, need only listen to Conceived in Fire. Once again, Living Sacrifice have outdone themselves, serving up some of the meatiest metalcore of 2002 with confidence and style. The 13 tracks that comprise Conceived in Fire feel less like individual achievements and more like one continuous proclamation of all which is brutal. Thundering drum dominance courtesy of Lance Garvin, one of the scene's most ...
| | Evanescence Fallen CD (2003)
Anywhere But Home songs
$8.49 Evanescence won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. FALLEN was nominated for Album Of The Year and for Best Rock Album. "Bring Me To Life" won for Best Hard Rock Performance. The song was also nominated for Best Rock Song.
Picture Tori Amos fronting Nickelback and you'll get an idea of the sound behind Evanescence, an Arkansas quartet whose introduction to the world came via the DAREDEVIL soundtrack. With its debut FALLEN, Evanescence further pushes the envelope on the aforementioned description, with frontwoman Amy Lee pouring her light-yet-strong vocals into the aggro-rock workout "Bring Me to Life" and industrial trip-hop of "My Last Breath." Although guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt leave no riff unplayed on hard-hitting cuts like "Going Under" and "Taking Over Me," Lee brings a nice balance to the table with her gorgeous piano runs, which come to the fore on the very Amos-like "Hello." The perfect balance of hard ...
| | Tesla Into The Now CD (2004)
Anywhere But Home album
$8.49 Unfairly labeled a hair-metal band, Tesla was always closer to the spirit of vintage 1970s hard rock. When the group released 1994's BUST A NUT, grunge rock was in full swing, and the Sacramento quintet subsequently took their curtain call, keeping busy with low-profile side projects. Testing the waters in 2000, Tesla launched a successful reunion tour, ...
