Sonic Assault
Always an eye opener for me, this was the first Damned album I ever heared (it's been, ohhh, 20 or so years..!). Classic 70's punk in one respect, but always a step ahead of everyone else. There are hints, in the sound, of the progressions this band would make over the next three years. However, in terms of guitar onslaught, this remains their most accessable. Best song on the album? All of 'em! If you think that, say, Blink 182 are punk then buy this and reconsider... that's all I can say...

Buy it or be Damned!
Possibly my favourite album of all time. The Damned's punk roots are still evident, but with this release they were very much expanding their musical parameters. The additional tracks are interesting, but i had hoped for more (i.e rare demos etc.).
The above listed tracks are wrong, by the way. The bonus tracks are-
Love Song (ed hollis mix)/Noise Noise Noise/Suicide/Smash it up(inst.)/Smash it up part 4/Burglar/Just Cant Be Happy (radio edit)/Ballroom Blitz/Turkey Song and a Plan 9 Channel 7 video clip.
