Simon & Garfunkle have been a major influence in the music business for 3 decades and their material is just as impressive and relevent now as it was all those years ago. If you liked them once, this album will remind you why. Technical improvements make this one even more satisfying than their "Concert in Central Park" although that too was wonderful. S & G have always had the rare quality of producing albums that are packed with great songs...no filler. While this CD can't contain all of them, it has the advantage of giving the buyer maximum bang for the buck. It truly does keep the customer satisfied (which is one of the songs, incidentally). I have always enjoyed "live" albums because they can often capture the actual energy of the event. Paul Simon used to spend months crafting their studio albums to make them as close to flawless as possible. Now they have achieved this with a "live" recording as well. I had the privilege of seeing this concert and was quite interested to hear how the album would measure up. It succeeds beyond my wildest expectations. In fact, the DVD offers a few extra bits like the opening montage and the full set by the Everly Brothers so pop for it if you can, it really captures the event beautifully. By the way, Art's stage presence is most engaging and warm. Paul may be the brain but Art is the heart. Paul Simon's intricate and powerful lyrics, the perfect meshing of their voices, an incredible band and a great selection of songs combine to make this CD a "must have" for any fan even if you already have their albums.
