This concert features sixteen performances that were originally broadcast on MTV Unplugged on November 11, 1992, plus three bonus tracks: "Living Proof", "If I Should Fall Behind" and "Roll Of The Dice." It contains the first appearance in any format of "Red Headed Woman" and Springsteen's first recorded performance of "Light Of Day." The performers are Bruce Springsteen (vocals, guitar), Zachary Alford (drums), Roy Bittan (keyboards), Shane Fontayne (guitar), Tommy Sims (bass) Crystal Talifero (guitar, percussion, vocals), Gia Ciambotti (vocals), Carol Dennis (vocals), Cleopatra Kennedy (vocals), Bobby King (vocals), Angel Rogers (vocals) and Patti Scialfa. Contains Bruce Springsteen's performance for the cable TV show "MTV Unplugged." It aired November 1992. Bruce Springsteen supposedly was going to perform an acoustic show for MTV's UNPLUGGED series, but he tossed aside the acoustic guitar and decided instead to put on an old-fashioned rock and roll show with his new band, touring behind HUMAN TOUCH and LUCKY TOWN. This first-ever home video concert release includes exhilarating performances of "Living Proof" and "If I Should Fall Behind" as well as the raunchy and funny "Red Headed Woman" and showstopper "Light of Day."

| | Bruce Springsteen Devils & Dust CD (2005) DualDisc
MTV Unplugged - Bruce Springsteen video
$15.15 This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
In much the same way that he followed the full-on assault of THE RIVER with the scaled-down, folk-based NEBRASKA, some two-and-a-half decades later, Bruce Springsteen made another stylistic about-face. In stark contrast to its predecessor, 2002's uplifting, epic-scale rocker THE RISING, DEVILS & DUST is a spare, quiet, acoustic-oriented album full of shadows and whispers.
Where THE RISING, a direct response to the tragedy of 9/11, rallied the spirit with impassioned optimism, the characters Bruce inhabits on DEVILS & DUST are often neck-deep in regret, bitterness, and despair. Not only does the album demonstrate the width of Springsteen's emotional range; perhaps more importantly, it contains some of his finest writing since its spiritual cousin, ...
| | Electric Light Orchestra A New World Record - Expanded Edition CD (1976) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
MTV Unplugged - Bruce Springsteen film
$7.59 Also available in a 3-pack with FACE THE MUSIC and DISCOVERY.
1976's A NEW WORLD RECORD is both a classic of commercial '70s pop and an archetypal ELO album. From the outer-space synths and rich orchestrations that open the album to Jeff Lynne's meticulous production and Beatlesque melodies, A NEW WORLD RECORD is magnificent ear candy. Both ambitious enough to appeal to "serious" rock fans and ultra-catchy enough to sound terrific on Top 40 radio (the plaintively gorgeous, McCartney-like "Telephone Line" and the anthemic "Livin' Thing" were well-deserved smashes), ELO was one of the few '70s bands whose appeal covered both the FM and AM spectrums. The album even resurrects "Do Ya," a classic single by Lynne's former band, the Move, in a splashy new version.
The next ELO album, 1977's elaborate double-album OUT OF THIS WORLD, was probably the band's commercial high point, but A NEW WORLD RECORD is the group's artistic high-water mark.
Jeff Lynne reportedly regards this album and its follow-up, Out of the Blue, ...
