My daughter has the Vinko toys so I got this DVD - however, it is real people dressed in costumes. I assumed it would be more of a cartoon which it is not at all. The songs are great. I also was under the impression that the Itsy Bitsy Spider was one of the songs on the DVD (which is another reason I purchased it since my daughter loves that song). But it turns out that it is only on the CD that comes along with it. Which is a great sing-a-long CD. So if you are familiar with the baby genius characters this could be a great purchase. If not - I would go with baby einstein or a different children's DVD.

When I first played the video I was not sure if it would get my daughter's attention. The video has real life people in a country/farm setting mixed with some animation and music. The color/quality reminds me of the 80's movie quality. Not necessarily my cup of tea, BUT my daughter LOVES IT. She is only a big Dora the Explorer fan until this movie. Everyday she asks for "Row Row" non-stop, finally realizing she was trying to say "Row Row Row Your Boat" to watch this movie. All the music is children's classics BINGO, Old McDonald, Three Little Monkeys, ABC's, Twinkle Star,etc. in different catchy tunes. Now at 28 months she is singing along.
