| Chorus Of Obliteration Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) EXCELLENT!!!! This is metal at its best.Heavy meaty guitar riffs, lots of melody, screaming, growling and clear vocals. And to top it off, there is one very nice ballad at the end of the album.I think this is a must for people looking for something new and heavy.Cant wait to hear what they will be doing next! truly amazing shredding guitars, crashing drums (with immense double bass), ... just basically everything about this cd IS metal. Submitted by bloodontheskull (silverhood, nj) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
These guys play REAL METAL! Anyone that proudly declares that Christians can't rock need need to shut up and just listen to the Showdown. I guarantee right now that you've never heard a thing like it. The guys are from Tennessee and it shows in their music-death metal with a southern vibe. The songs are very well written and don't follow the traditional format(verse, chorus, verse, chorus, interlude, chorus...). What's so awesome is that each song is a whole collection of catchy melodies, and each song has a distinctive guitar solo. The screams and vocals are pretty good, but what's so cool is the majority of most of the songs are just metal. You really need to hear these guys play, so if you don't own the cd, and like metal, buy the cd this very second-you won't regret it. The Showdown I had the extreme pleasure of seeing these guys on the first show of the Rise of the Robots tour. They absolutely brought the house down around us. They are a very solid and inovating band, and they deserve the success that they are receiving. Heart felt spiritual lyrics, powerful vocals, bone crunching chop riffs, seering solo lead, throbbing bass, and mind rattling drum work. Go buy this cd now. Chorus Of Obliteration
$21.79 PLAYS LIVE (HIGHLIGHTS) are highlights from 4 different North American concerts between December 1982 and Spring 1983.
This is a Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.
PLAYS LIVE is the sound of a man finally freeing himself definitively from the shackles that had bound him for years. Admittedly those shackles, being front man for Genesis, one of the most fascinating and consistently creative prog-rock bands of the early '70s, were hardly severe. But they were a constraint nonetheless. (How often could Peter take some fan screaming "Suppers Ready" when trying to debut new material?) Finally, with a substantial body of solo material (four albums, three of them titled PETER GABRIEL), Gabriel was ready to put the ghost of Genesis to rest.
And while ...

Chorus Of Obliteration
$8.85 Although little fanfare accompanied the original release of Giving Birth to a Stone in the early '90s, the 2000 re-release of Peach's only album was met with considerably greater interest. This heightened curiosity was almost completely due to the fact that Peach was Justin Chancellor, the bassist who joined Tool in late 1995, following Peach's disintegration. Shortly after Chancellor came aboard, Tool released their hugely successful breakthrough album, Aenima, and soon became one of the most popular heavy rock bands of the latter half of the '90s. However, due to protracted legal difficulties with their label, Tool and their audience were left with an interminably long wait between albums. Along with Maynard James Keenan's quasi-side project, A Perfect Circle, the reissue of Giving Birth to a Stone could almost be viewed as a stopgap for Tool aficionados, intended to satiate their hunger for new material. Because Tool had incorporated two Peach ...

| | Robert Rich Somnium CD (2001)
Chorus Of Obliteration
$23.29 According to the Robert Rich home page, "Robert Rich has meticulously crafted a fresh studio interpretation of his notorious all-night Sleep Concerts, incorporating newly recorded electro-acoustic, electronic and environmental textures, with elements created for the original live events. Somnium guides the listener through an ever-changing dreamscape, with levels of subtle detail that reward both active attention and background listening." Clocking in at seven hours, it's also considered to be one of the longest continuous musical compositions ever released on any format; verily, Somnium represents a landmark in ambient music. Somnium is also available exclusively in the DVD format, which is both good and bad -- it's good because Somnium's seven hours of ambient sound play out complete and uncut; the bad part is the limited availability of DVD players, but that's the only complaint with this record. This is a fantastic recording that incorporates all kinds of sounds and wraps them into a deep listening/background environmental ambient experience. Rich craftily assembled all kinds of sounds from a variety of different sources for this project, which was almost seven years in the making. This disc is representative of Rich's early recorded works, specifically Sunyata and Trances/ Drones, but it's more representative of his academic work as one of the pioneers in the field of lucid dreaming -- hence the title Somnium. This is a fantastic work and a must-have for any fan of ambient music. ~ Matt Borghi
