This concert was recorded in Budapest in 2004 during the European tour in support of his most recent album To Watch the Storms. It combines songs from across his career including classics, early solo material, and more recent tracks. The line up includes Hackett, Roger King, Rob Townsend, Terry Gregory, and Gary O'Toole. Steve Hackett rose to fame as guitarist for the 1970s prog-rock band Genesis and has gone on to a successful solo career that spans Brazilian samba music and the avant-garde compositions of classical composer Eric Satie. ONCE UPON A TIME captures Hackett live in Budapest in April 2004 during the European leg of his TO WATCH THE STORMS tour, performing Genesis classics such as "Blood on the Rooftops" and "Firth of Fifth," as well as solo material such as "Ace of Wands," "Spectral Mornings," "Mechanical Bride," and many more.

Hackett Can Still Rock A great mixture of many of his old, some from Darktown, and a couple of his favorite Genesis' tunes. He still plays with an intense passion, and its great to see Roger King back on the keyboards.
Not much acoustic guitar, but Steve shows he can still rock. Watch your eyes on track 2, a bunch of strobes. Submitted by teuscheld (Jacksonville, Florida) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hackett Live at the Top of his Craft I have all the previous Steve Hackett DVDs and if you are going to buy just one, this is it. Luckily for me, I got my surround Home Theater system at the same time and enjoyed this DVD to its fullest potential. Hackett has to be the driving force among all progressive guitarrists in the world, his skills are showcased on this concert. For those Genesis fans there is "Flying on a Windhsheild" and "Blood on the Rooftops" that are performed to perfection as all his solo material, standouts are "Clocks" "Ace of Wands" and "Air conditioned nightmare" and not forgetting the astonishing talents of Terry Gregory on bass, Rob Townsend on flute, Gary O'Toole on drums and Roger King on keyboards. You must own this! Submitted by Leo (Katy, Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Top Hackett Despite a very reserved audience this DVD shows Hackett and band performing his material at its best. A few issues with the level of the vocal tracks but the rest of the mix is first class. A must get for any prog rocker Submitted by cats21 (Adelaide SA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Steve Hackett - Once Above A Time: Live In Europe 2004 review
$9.69 Julie Delpy's breezily hilarious feature follows French-born Marion (Delpy) and Jack (Adam Goldberg), her American boyfriend (of two years), on a two-day stop through Paris, where Marion has purchased a tiny apartment one floor up from her rowdy, eccentric parents (played with great ability by Delpy's actual parents). Just passing through after an Italian getaway, the lovebirds are unprepared for the many relationship tests soon thrown their way in the notoriously romantic city. Avoiding the metro on account of Jack's terrorism fears, the couple treks about the city by foot and cabs, getting into several vicious brawls with French cabbies, waiters, and a string of men from Marion's past. When Jack discovers ...
