Overall excellent - But...where's the snare?
Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas film One has to remember, I think, that this performance was recorded for Soundstage. Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas review Having said that, still being a largely funded PBS endeavor, it isn't a wonder why you may not have heard of either the engineer or the mixing tech. Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas DVD for sale The overall sound is great. The simple stereo mix while not the best "effected" sound does have the best overall balance of sound. In all the other mixes, I have to ask: Was the snare drum mic set at 2? Being a drummer I am somewhat of a non-objective listener. But I can't help but note how much more driven and live any recorded performance is when the 2 and the 4 stand out like a whip. Get this set though - Yes astounds even at the ripened ages of all the players.

Great, but it leaves me scratching my head
Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas movie it is a great concert, with Yes showing again why they were the prog kings. Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas video I am not sure they why they picked their final show on the tour to record the DVD. Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas film Visibly they were exhausted, and in some spots affected the music. Seems to me most bands if they are going to record something, would not pick their final show of the tour. Jon was straining towards the end, but he was still wonderful. The acoustic set was brilliant. Can they now get ino the studio one last time? They have been the road for 2 years on and off, and they have all their solo tours coming up soon. Maybe they can give us something fresh. Rehashing the old stuff is great, but give us something new, before Rick leaves for the last time in 2006.

Timeless music, ageless musicians!
Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas review Okay, so these guys aren't spring chickens anymore - neither are those of us who were around when they climbed to the top of the prog/art-rock pantheon in the late '60s and early '70s. Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas DVD for sale Having said that, however, there is no one living or dead who makes the quality of music that Yes does. A generous smattering of "hits" laced with many of the classic long-form pieces serves to engage the viewer throughout the set. Never ones to dance around or use over the top stage theatrics to entertain, these consumate performers don't miss a note as they soar through songs that sound as vibrant as they did in whatever decade you discovered them. No one does it better - and no one ever will. RP.

YES, YES,YES
Yes - 35th Anniversary Concert: Songs From Tsongas movie If you like Yes even a little bit, buy this DVD. If you are a lifelong fan, you definitely need to buy this DVD. Anderson's voice is a gift from God. It is still so strong and clear and the level of musicianship speaks for itself. I get the chills just watching it. The "vibe" is eternal. Peace, Love, and the joy of life.

If you love Yes, you'll love this
I've seen this group of Yes members in concert before and it really takes me back. They are still great musicians / singers. Now I have a great video. They do some of their great songs as acoustic numbers and the arrangements they chose give the songs and entirely new feel.
