Allow Us To Be Frank CD music
$14.45 Also available on CD in MORE THAN PHYSICAL box on Griffin (373-0) including the 150-page book MORE THAN PHYSICAL: A COLLECTOR'S GUIDE.
MORE THAN PHYSICAL comes in a box consisting of the CD HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW and a 150-page book: OLIVIA--MORE THAN PHYSICAL: A COLLECTOR'S GUIDE. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MELLOW is also available separately on CD on Griffin (373-2).
This early release from singer Olivia Newton-John showcases her country-pop mode, with "Have You Ever Been Mellow," "Goodbye Again," and others showing off her refined vocal grace.
The hit single "Have You Never Been Mellow" carried Olivia Newton-John right back to number one, six months after "I Honestly Love You" brought the singer to that coveted position for the first time. The title track is a masterpiece of songwriting by her producer, John Farrar, an exquisitely pleasant melody with a sunny and peaceful theme. Having covered John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" on the Let Me Be There album in 1973, Newton-John goes back to the Denver catalog ...

| | Leann Rimes Twisted Angel CD (2002)
Allow Us To Be Frank songs
$6.29 TWISTED ANGEL shows just how far the newly adult vocalist has come from her teenage-prodigy beginnings. For one thing, she seems determined to leave her country roots far behind. Though she started down the pop route as early as 1997's YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE, TWISTED ANGEL is completely devoid of any country inflection whatsoever, focusing instead (as have a couple of Rimes's previous efforts, to varying degrees) on modern, often even danceable, pop. Rimes may be closer to Britney Spears than to Kitty Wells these days, but she seems to be expressing more of her inner self. It's surely no coincidence that three of the four songs on which she gets co-writing credit utilize the imagery of the angel with dirty wings, the child star with tears behind the smile. Lyrically, Rimes ...

Allow Us To Be Frank songs
$13.59 This 18-track compilation of previously released versions of Rolling Stones' nuggets is a little longer than earlier attempts at the same concept such as 1998's Cover You: A Tribute to the Rolling Stones (with which it shares four tunes) and 2005's skimpy 11-cut Wild Horses: A Rock and Roll Tribute to the Rolling Stones (only one duplicate from that), but it's not markedly better. Due to the lack of liner notes, there's a frustrating absence of noting what albums these songs were grabbed from, let alone who played on them, and given the embarrassingly shoddy cover art, this looks like a quicky project seemingly pressed up to capitalize on the Stones' 2006 A Bigger Bang tour. It is also, perhaps not surprisingly, heavy on material from the EMI/Virgin vaults, which accounts for 11 of its selections. That's not to say it's without merit; the compiler unearths a few cool, way under the radar Stones covers from Miranda Lee Richards (no relation to Keith) ...
