Construction Of Evil album
$15.65 The release of 2009's ENDGAME brings with it a startling realization: if first-generation thrash metal fans had been polled about which of the genre's "Big Four" -- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth -- would prove to be the most resilient and consistently prolific over the next quarter century, the only sure-fire consensus would probably have been "well, anyone but Megadeth!" And yet, 12 studio albums and 150-plus songs later -- more than any of the other three have managed -- that's exactly what's come to pass. The group's second release for Roadrunner, whose title apparently refers to "coming full circle" rather than any sort of goodbye, finds the latest iteration of Megadeth-- debuting new guitarist Chris Broderick(ex-Nevermore, Jag Panzer)--working primarily within their technical thrash comfort zone (think PEACE SELLS through RUST IN PEACE), with only a few latter-day ...

Construction Of Evil music CDs
$6.29 Also available in a 3-pack with POINT OF ENTRY and SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE.
Not only is Judas Priest's 1980 release BRITISH STEEL one of its very best albums, it also proved to be one of heavy metal's all-time classics. After Priest spent the '70s honing its dark, heavy-duty metal to perfection, the band decided to inject more melody ...
| | Astra Weirding CD (2009)
Construction Of Evil songs
$10.69 During the late '90s, it seemed like prog rock had finally achieved extinction. But fast forward ten years later and the genre was thriving once more - as evidenced by the arrival of such groups as Astra and their 2009 full-length debut, THE WEIRDING (which includes some very Roger Dean-inspired cover artwork). Hailing from an area not exactly known for spawning prog goliaths (San ...
| | Megadeth Peace Sells... But Who's Buying CD (1986) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Construction Of Evil album
$9.99 Guitarist Dave Mustaine was an original member of thrash-pioneers Metallica. But he was booted from the band during the recording of that band's debut album, KILL 'EM ALL. Instead of moping around, Mustaine returned to California and immediately formed another group--Megadeth. He promised his fans that the new outfit would be faster and more lethal than his former band, and Megadeth's 1985 debut, KILLING IS MY BUSINESS, AND BUSINESS IS GOOD, made good on this threat. Megadeth and Metallica duked it out in the music press, but both acts thrived. In 1986, each released its finest record, Metallica's MASTER OF PUPPETS and Megadeth's PEACE SELLS...BUT WHO'S BUYING?
While Metallica initially shunned MTV, Megadeth used the video format to its advantage--becoming the first thrash band to do so. Both "Wake Up Dead" and the anthemic title track received constant play on MTV's HEAVY METAL HOUR; the latter song's brief bass intro was even used as the theme to MTV news in the early-'90s. Tracks such as "The Conjuring," "Devil's Island," "Good Mourning/Black Friday," and a cover of Jeff Beck's "I Ain't Superstitious" proved to be just as brutal. PEACE SELLS is an influential, all-time heavy metal classic.

| | Exodus Bonded By Blood CD (1985)
Construction Of Evil CD music
$7.85 Had it been released immediately after it was recorded in 1984, Exodus' Bonded by Blood might be regarded today alongside Metallica's Kill 'em All as one of the landmark albums responsible for launching the thrash metal wave. But by the time it finally hit the streets more than a year later due to numerous record company-related difficulties, the genre the band helped spawn had evolved at an alarming rate (again, largely thanks to the unstoppable Metallica) and Exodus were left to wonder what kind of impact they may have had without these setbacks. Opening with the mind-blowing power of title track, the band immediately pummels through a number of astounding thrashers, including "And Then There Were None" and, perhaps their best well-known track, "A Lesson in Violence" -- a veritable handbook for thrash etiquette. Though less enduring, "Metal Command" is one of the band's most fully realized compositions and leads the way into concert ...

| | Axe Offering CD (1981)
Construction Of Evil album
$10.49 Kicking off with their raison d'etre "Rock 'n' Roll Party in the Street," Offering proved to be the moment of glory for Florida's Axe. That single remains a great slice of heartland party rock, and the rest of the record ably falls in line. While the quaint "Video Inspiration" berates artificial imagery, "Jennifer" serenades a screen star; but Axe doesn't let such cerebral quandaries get in the way of booty-shaking boogie like the smoking run-through of Montrose's "I Got the Fire" (later covered by Iron Maiden and Rest in Pieces) and the summer-in-the-city riot selection "Burn the City Down." "Holdin' On" falls in the ol' reliable "love 'em and leave 'em" category ...
