| | Skye Sweetnam Noise From The Basement CD Skye Sweetnam Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Skye Sweetnam got her big break at an early age when her teen-rebellion anthem "Billy S." was tapped to appear on the soundtrack for the Mandy Moore film HOW TO DEAL. With interest in the young Canadian piqued, the youthful rocker entered the studio with expert producers, and emerged with her debut, NOISE FROM THE BASEMENT, a perfect mix of affable pop sensibility and nascent punk angst suffused with sunshine.
As one might expect, most of the themes regard the difficulties of growing up, finding love, and uncovering hidden emotions. Like Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson, Sweetnam was schooled in the edgier side of rock & roll, and even the most radio-ready tracks, especially the runaway hit single "Tangled Up in Me," hold a sense of chaotic spark within. Sweetnam's lyrics, on the other hand, cling to a sense of innocence absent in the music of many maturing teen-pop sensations. Songs with titles such as "Hypocrite" and "It Sucks" flow out of Sweetnam in an unfiltered and honest way. Given all its restless energy, NOISE FROM THE BASEMENT captures the spirit of a young artist discovering herself.

| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
Noise From The Basement CD music
$16.24 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the wonderful, perverse march "Teeth." Even the stuttering splices on "Telephone," a duet with Beyoncé, leans to the other side of the Atlantic, which just emphasizes the otherness that's become Gaga's calling card. And even as she's becoming omnipresent, with ...

Noise From The Basement songs

| | Rammstein Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da CDs (2009) Bonus Tracks; Deluxe Edition; Digipak
Noise From The Basement CD music
$17.59 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********" or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic, cabaret pieces that conjure the spirits of Weil and Brecht at a goth club. Best of the latter is the naked and haunting closer "Roter Sand" but little touches of a sinister yesteryear are everywhere, like the fake vaudeville music in "Haifisch" or the ...

$6.69 I grew up in Revere, Massachusetts. A town just outside of Boston. I graduated from Revere High School in 1988. I then graduated from Salem State in 1995. After kicking my songs around for years I decided to fullfill a dream. I got some help from Tony Schultz of Big T Productions (bigtproductions ), and I finally recorded my first CD named Sellout. Please check out the samples. Then check out myspace /selloutcd for 4 more song samples. Thanks so very much for listening...And now for the storyteller portion of my show: this is Sellout. 1) DesertIn the spirit of the Refreshments. | | Univers Zero Relaps: Archives 1984-1986 CD (2009)
Noise From The Basement songs
$14.25 To call Univers Zero a prog-rock band would be tantamount to calling Egon Schiele a doodler. Their dark, intense music is bigger than genre definitions, existing in a paradigm all its own. This collection of mid-1980s live recordings features versions of tunes from two of their strongest albums, HEATWAVE and UZED, where moody keyboards, abstract rhythmic notions, and impressionistic violin create a mood that's closer to a plugged-in Stravinsky than to anything in the rock world. This unique view of a prime period in the band's evolution will be greeted as a godsend by their hardy cult following.
A founding member of the original 'Rock In Opposition' [R.I.O.] movement, & considered to be one of the greatest avant-garde rock band of the last 30 years, Belgium's Univers Zero are are rightly famous for their perfect balance between classical and rock influences. They were originally founded in 1974. During their first lifetime, they released Univers Zero (1977), Heresie (1979), Ceux Du Dehors (1981), Crawling Wind, (1983), UZED (1984) and Heatwave (1986) until their breakup in 1987. After 2 solo albums, ...
| | Tenet Sovereign CD (2009)
Noise From The Basement album
$13.15 Tenet, not to be confused with the R&B group of the same name, is an industrial-strength thrash band with some seriously powerhouse membership. Vocalist Steve Souza formerly fronted both Exodus and Testament; guitarist Glen Alvelais has played with Testament and Forbidden; and second guitarist Jed Simon, bassist Byron Stroud, and drummer Gene Hoglan are all veterans of Strapping Young Lad (plus the six-dozen other bands Hoglan's bashed the skins for, of course). Given that pedigree, any discerning metalhead is gonna pop the shrink ...
