| | Terry Sylvester I Believe CD - Import Terry Sylvester Discography of CDs
Terry Sylvester's second solo album is similar to his first, with one major difference: Seemingly as a concession to that earlier album's major weakness, I Believe has a few tougher, faster-tempo numbers. The album breaks up its romantic ballads (all of them quite beautiful, and mostly well-sung) with a much better-than-decent disco number ("In Motion") and one good mid-tempo rocker, "Atlantis," that recalls Elton John's early-'70s progressive period. I Believe is a slightly more bracing album than Terry Sylvester, though not a significantly better one, but is a closer match, in terms of appeal, to any of the records of the Hollies from this period. ~ Bruce Eder

I Believe album
$22.69 In 1978, the legendary prog-rock band Jethro Tull descended on Madison Square Garden, unleashing an epic 14-song set that stretched from "Sweet Dream" through "Thick as a Brick" and "Aqualung," and landing on a righteous encore ...
| | Judas Priest Concert Classics CD (2009) Reissue
I Believe CD music
$11.18 There was a time when British Steel was the hottest, hardest, and most awesome substance on the planet. On Judas Priest "Concert Classics", here it is, in its most appropriate circumstances: live, on stage. Judas Priest re-invented heavy metal. The first band to use the twin-guitar attack, they built on the foundation Black Sabbath had laid and moved metal to a new level. Looking back on the body of the work that the classic Priest line-up of Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill and Dave Holland has left us, nobody is in any doubt that the "British Steel" album was the finest studio work the band produced. ...
| | Rod Stewart Soulbook CD (2009)
I Believe music CDs
$10.99 Continuing his stroll through pop's backpages, Rod Stewart moves on from "The Great Rock Classics of Our Time" and dives into the SOULBOOK, shorthand for all the great Motown and soul songs that still are in heavy rotation on oldies radio well into the new millennium. Rod doesn't spend much time with the soul and blues singers so influential on him, choosing instead to run through a bunch of Motown hits - a full six of the 13 songs here are from the Motor City - adding a couple of smooth soul hits from the early '70s, plus Chuck Jackson & Maxine Brown's "Let It Be Me" which gives him an opportunity to duet with ...

I Believe songs
$12.99 Porcupine Tree, have found a way to incorporate both prog rock's '70s, with its 10-minute-plus suites and bombast, and its more refined, rock heavy '80s, into their 2009 effort, THE INCIDENT. Set up similarly to Rush's 1978 classic, HEMISPHERES, THE INCIDENT is comprised of a single long song -- the title track -- that features many different movements, followed by a handful of shorter compositions ...
| | Timothy B Schmit Expando CD (2009)
I Believe album
$11.99 Timothy B Schmit launched his solo career late - in 1984, after the Eagles disbanded and right in the thick of the era of shiny, synthesized production. Schmit released three solo albums, all big and glossy, between 1984 and 1991, then reunited with the Eagles in '94, so he never quite had a chance to record an album as relaxed and natural as 2009's EXPANDO. Ditching all the sheen, but not professional panache, that lingered all the way to 2001's FEED THE FIRE, Schmit returns to his country and folk-rock roots here, creating a record that has a clear through ...
| | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
I Believe CD music
$14.39 Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though most tracks on the upcoming album will be in English, Shakira chose to service the Spanish version of the first single, "Loba", two weeks before the English single is launched.
Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet doesn't flush. "Darling, it is no joke, this is lycanthropy," she sings on the title track with no small trace of humor, and ...

| | Rachelle Van Zanten Back To Francois CD (2007)
I Believe CD music
$18.95 "After 11 years in the trenches, Canadian slide guitarist Rachelle van Zanten is done with bands. She just released her first solo album, Back to Francois, which is packed with funky blues riffs and stellar slide performances. The surprise is that van Zanten juxtaposes her gutsy guitar playing with very personal and introspective lyrics- a stylistic trait she attributes to her diverse influences." (Guitar Player Magazine-Oct. 2006)"Rachelle van Zanten has come a long way from her bluegrass upbringing in the foothills of northern British Columbia. For over a decade, this Canadian slide guitarist and songwriter has been working out her soulful blues riffs and turning heads. When the award-winning Painting Daisies dissolved in late 2005, van Zanten seized the opportunity to launch her solo career, recording her "fresh and rootsy" solo debut Back to Francois with producer Joby Baker. Baker has since assumed the role of drummer, accompanying ...
