College is over, real life can start. Well, not yet. The Groovers, five University of Texas roommates, class of '71, find breaking up is hard to do. So Gardner, the group's official "Groover and Shaker," decides that he and his buddies should chuck their worries about an imminent wedding, the Vietnam draft and crashing the working world to take off in Phil's Caddy for a final footloose tear across the Lone Star State. Join their far-flung post-graduation Fandango. A dynamic cast, including rising stars Kevin Costner as party guy Gardner and Judd Nelson as straight-arrow Phil, and the clever script and direction of first-timer Kevin Reynolds. Just days away from graduation, five college cronies take a rowdy road trip. Driving across Texas terrain, the young men remember old friends, good times and lazy days. Five college roommates take a trip across the Texas badlands together before they graduate and go their separate ways. "Fandango" grew out of "Proof," a student film made by director Kevin Reynolds. Fandango Reviews: "...An appealing boisterousness, and it successfully walks a fine line between sensitivity and swagger..."
-- Janet Maslin, New York Times "...A quite promising feature debut....There is no doubt of the new talent presenting itself here..."

Fandango Movie Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Good Buddy road movie Saw this on tv some years ago and had been looking for it for sometime but I couldn't remember the title but new Kevin Costner was in it. A young Kevin Costner doing his Animal House bit. Overall it is a good buddy road movie. Worth whatching and quite sentimental at the end. The part where Judd Nelson takes a sky dive is worth whatching over and over top spot! Worth buying. Submitted by ed_white_70 (England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A Real Sleeper! This is my all time favorite movie. If you like comedy, romance with a twist, and adventure, than this your movie.
Many of us have been waiting for the DVD version for years and thank goodness it's finally here.
Four recent college graduates in 1971 Texas are heading different directions and head out to get DOM during one last Groover roadtrip.
There are so many emotions in this movie: anger, sadness, happiness, fear, and excitement. If you have fond memories of the past (most of us do)and wish to relive them, this is the movie for you.
There are so many fantastic scenes from this movie it's hard to choose just one. I do remember watching it for the first time and cracking-up after Phil's parachute landing picture with laundry fluttering to the ground but this movie is much, much, more! My wife's favorite part is the wedding at the end. The train scene is classic!
Ever have the foresight of what life might be like in the future and understand the importance of youth while standing in a self-serve carwash? This movie does it.
Doorman reads some great books in the movie too.
This movie tops Shawshank Redemption in that it was a box office flop but ended up being a great movie most people missed the first time around.
The secret's still out on Fandango and in some way I hope it remains so becuase it's such a joy to show it to friends and blow their minds away.
Video Universe brings this movie to us for a mere $14; Definately the best $14 video I've ever seen. FAndango has a spectacular soundtrack as well. By far, this is my most treasured DVD.

where can I get the soundtrack? I saw this movie many years ago and it is still one of my favorites. A perfect gem of a movie. I have always wanted the soundtrack but have never been able to locate it. The music from the wedding still haunts me.
thank you for your help.

Great Hidden Gem The truly great films leave you missing the characters. You want the film to keep going so you can spend more time with the characters. Fandango is one of my favorite films. It is a classic bildungs roman film. It could have easily slipped into the lame road movie genre but it has heart and character. I always get a little sad at the end (yet the ending is perfect.) The soundtrack is fantastic. I can't hear "Can't Find My Way Home" or "Badge" without thinking about Fandango. Submitted by mister.misanthrope (Boston, MA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Like American Graffiti and Breaking Away, Fandango is a jovial, joyful look at growing up and busting loose.

$15.19 Set in a strange, colorful land populated by fairy tale characters, SHREK is a hilarious comedy that will win over audiences of children and adults alike. Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) is a fearsome green ogre living in isolation in his own cozy little swamp. He is not receptive to visitors, and fends off the occasional party of torch-wielding villagers with ease. But when the power-hungry Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) turns Shrek's swamp into a relocation camp for dozens of banished fairy-tale characters (including some pesky dwarves, wolves, and fairies) Shrek's quiet, introverted life is ...

$7.95 Gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath, pride, and lust--these are the seven deadly sins that are being punished with unimaginable cruelty and calculation by an enigmatic killer in David Fincher's bleak thriller SEVEN. Set in a perpetually gloomy unnamed city, the film follows Somerset (Morgan Freeman), a retiring police detective, as he experiences his final week on the job, reluctantly working with assertive newcomer Mills (Brad Pitt). When an obese man is found brutally murdered in his home, the seasoned Somerset realizes this is no ordinary killing--someone tortured him because of his appetite. Slayings that reflect the sins of greed and sloth soon follow, leading Somerset and Mills on a desperate search to find the mysterious John Doe, who is responsible for these methodical murders. As the case builds to a startling conclusion, both Somerset and Mills become more involved than they ever could have imagined.
After a brief opening scene, SEVEN immediately cuts to a highly stylized title sequence. An intricate collage of books and ...

$15.29 In this meet-the-parents sequel to the romantic fairy tale in which two ogres fall in love, SHREK 2 brings the loveable green menace (voiced by Mike Meyers) back to the big screen for a second round of mischief. This time around, in addition to the voices of Cameron Diaz (as Shrek's sweetheart Fiona) and Eddie Murphy (as their companion Donkey), Julie Andrews and John Cleese chime in as Fiona's parents, Queen Lillian and King Harold. Surprising newcomer Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas)--a slyly funny tabby honed for swashbuckling adventure--joins the crew. Last but certainly not least, the conniving duo of vain Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) and his power-hungry mom, the Fairy Godmother (Jennifer Saunders), spice up the action.
When Fiona insists that her new husband Shrek visit her parents, they travel to Far Far Away (a Disneyfied medieval version of Hollywood) where everything goes wrong. The King and Queen are outraged to see their daughter married to an ogre, and while Fiona tries to calm them, Shrek sets out to find a solution. ...

$7.89 Director Martin Scorsese returns to his trademark style with the violent, bruised, and bloody feature THE DEPARTED. Scorsese filched the basic storyline from Wai Keung Lau and Siu Fai Mak's masterful 2002 Hong Kong action film, INFERNAL AFFAIRS, which saw a policeman going undercover as a mob member and a mob member infiltrating the police force. Scorsese transfers the action to Boston, positioning Leonardo Di Caprio as undercover cop William Costigan and Matt Damon as undercover mobster Colin Sullivan. While Costigan and Sullivan get into plenty of nail-biting situations that almost reveal their true identities, Scorsese gradually unravels his strong supporting cast, including Jack Nicholson as Sullivan's mob boss, Frank Costello; Ray Winstone as Costello's meat-headed muscle; Mark Wahlberg as a hot-headed police sergeant; and Vera Farmiga as a love interest for both Damon and DiCaprio's characters.
THE DEPARTED finds Scorsese generously dipping his toes back into waters that will be ...

$9.69 In this unique and at times shocking reality show, pop-princess Britney Spears (and then-boyfriend Kevin Federline) proudly show off the kind of novice home-video footage most people would keep secretly hidden under lock and key. UPN jumped at the chance to purchase this self-made record of the chain-smoking, hotel-hopping couple's courtship and relationship up until their 2004 nuptials, editing the material into the 5 individual episodes seen here. Those familiar with Spears's sexy and calculated onstage and music-video personality may be surprised by the unglamorous backstage Britney revealed here. Armed with a mini-cam, Britney records the behind-the-scenes antics of her Onyx Hotel Tour (and her growing relationship ...
