Music For Piano And Drums Music Patrick Moraz Music For Piano And Drums Songs Music For Piano And Drums Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Moraz and Bruford are exciting together! This is for any music lover regardless of your taste in music! These guys are exciting to listen to and they seem to feed off eachother in every track! I hope someday they make another Lp together.
To be honest i bought the vinyl Lp (used for 3 dollars) because
i love Mr.Brufords playing, the guy is truly amazing.I need to buy a copy of this CD import because the vinyl i bought doesn't have these extra bonus tracks!! You wont regret it Submitted by rbreyes (Pomona,Ca) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Moraz & Bruford Rock... and all kinds of stuff! This is a unique recording for acoustic piano and drums ONLY. No overdubs, no tricks, just two guys playing their axes like only they can play them. This music won’t be for everyone and there is really nothing to compare it too. If you are familiar with Moraz’s piano playing, think of his “Windows” CD, then think of Bruford’s drumming on Discipline/Beat/Three of a Perfect Pair era King Crimson. Now put these two guys in one studio with one acoustic piano and one acoustic drum set and leave them alone (but remembering turn on the recording devices) come back in an hour and you will have Music for Piano and Drums. My favorite cut is “Blue Brains”. The three added bonus cuts are live recordings, one of them being “Blue Brains”, very cool! If you like either one (or both) of these fine musicians, then add this excellent set to your collection. Submitted by bongolong (Silverado, California, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | My Time: A Boz Scaggs Anthology (1969-1997) CDs (1997) 1969-97
Music For Piano And Drums
$15.99 In his liner notes to the double-disc, two-and-a-half-hour Boz Scaggs compilation My Time: The Anthology (1969-1997), Ben Fong-Torres writes, "There are those who, charting Boz's career, identify specific phases: rock and roll with [Steve] Miller; the early solo albums, which were as much country and blues, and pop and jazz, as they were rock; the Slow Dancer/Silk Degrees stage, of Boz as sweet soul singer; the nearly decade-long retrenchment and semi-retirement, and the return to rootsy blues and R&B in Some Change and Come On Home." Fong-Torres goes on to say that this is not an incorrect way to describe Scaggs' career, but that there is more unity than it would imply: "in every phase of his career, he has remained faithful to his musical instincts." Fair enough, and that unity is reflected in the compilation, which shows that, with slight variations, Scaggs has always been interested in what might be called an evolved version of the Chicago blues, augmenting his rock sound with horn charts and prominent female background vocals, all in support of his adenoidal tenor voice. But most people would make a far simpler division in his career, ...

| | Steve Klink Feels Like Home: 14 Songs By Randy Newman CD (2003)
Music For Piano And Drums
$13.25 Steve Klink Trio: Steve Klink (piano); Dieter Fuhr (bass); Markus Rieck (drums). Additional personnel: Mia Znidaric (vocals); Alex Olivari (guitar). Recorded at Topaz, Cologne, Germany and Metro Studio, Ljubljana, Slovenia in September-October 2000. Personnel: Steve Klink (piano). Recording information: Topaz Studio, Cologne, Germany (09/22/2000-10/07/2000). As a lyricist, Randy Newman is many things -- humorous, witty, clever, biting, world-weary, thought-provoking, and insightful are among the words that immediately come to mind when one thinks of Newman's pop/rock contributions. He can be cynical and sarcastic, but he's also compassionate. The very ironic "Short People," for example, effectively used sarcasm to attack bigotry and prejudice, and Newman got his point across without being preachy. So if Newman's lyrics are such an important part of his artistry, is it possible for a worthwhile Newman tribute to be mostly instrumental? This CD (which was recorded in Germany and Slovenia in 2000) demonstrates that the answer is yes. Jazz ...
| | Back In Denim CD (2006)
Music For Piano And Drums
$16.15 Moving away from the gorgeously skewed guitar pop of Felt (whose Television influence has been a bit overstated), Lawrence Hayward -- just Lawrence if you please -- released this debut album under the Denim moniker in 1992. Those expecting the elegant guitar figures of old were in for quite a surprise. Sweet and crunchy rhythm guitars and goofy synthesizers were the new order of the day, as was a stream of lyrical vitriol. The beguiling eight-minute "The Osmonds" runs down a list of everything an English boy could encounter ...
