Abraham Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Very Accurate Biblical Movie This movie starts out a little slow but other than that, it tells the true story of Abraham, his wife Sarah, and their decendants. Abraham follows God's instructions by leaving his father's house and settling into antoher part of the country. In doing so, Abraham is blessed for his obedience. Abraham runs into trouble along the way but his faith in God keeps him going. Those who blessed Abraham are blessed and those who cursed him are cursed. I highly recommend this movie. After viewing this movie you must purchase the movie entitled: Jacob, who's Abraham's grandson. Then purchase the movie entitled: Joseph, who's Jacob's son. Then purchase the movie entitled: The Story of Ruth, who's King David's
great-great-grandmother. Then purchase the movie entitled: David and Bathsheeba. Then purchase Solomon and Sheba (played by Yul B.) because King Solomon is King David and Bathsheeba's son. Then somewhere between the movies read the Bible. All of these movies have a Biblical connection and they're Bible accurate.

Abraham is true biblical form It is a long but excellent movie, but so is Ben Hur. It is very biblical in nature and accuracy in content. Submitted by rtcrowe (Jacksonville, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent portrayal The whole family enjoyed this and it had to be viewed several times before returning it to Netflix. I saw it twice and enjoyed it both times. Acting was very professional in it's quality. Biblically it was accurate and the parts that were not in the Bible were certainly quite reasonable and thought provoking. Get the DVD! I saw "Abraham" when it was first shown on the TNT network in '94. When I bought the VHS copy one year ago I was so disapointed that it had been cut to 150 minutes. However, this week I found the DVD at a local store and was so pleased to see this copy had been restored to it's original 187 minutes. I bought it immediately.
This production is very accurate in keeping to scripture and I find it very inspirational. The beginning of God's nation Israel. I highly recommend this movie and suggest the DVD. Submitted by pbmolgaard1 (Carlsbad, NM, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great! I teach 6th grade at a middle school. The movie helps to show the way of life in Mesopotamia and show how Abraham's moves from being a man raised in a time of multiple-gods to one God. The acting was good. Submitted by linda_detrick (Watsonville, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Abraham video
$7.05 An adaptation of the legendary biblical tale, director Bruce Beresford's film stars Richard Gere as King David, favorite of the God of Israel. Although only a shepherd boy, David is anointed as heir to the throne of Israel by Samuel (Dennis Quilley), who is disgusted with the weakness of Saul (Edward Woodward). When David brings the protracted war with the Philistines to an end by defeating their champion Goliath (George Eastman) in battle, he is celebrated by his people but must flee the country to avoid being killed by Saul, whose jealousy he has aroused. When Saul and his sons finally die in battle, David assumes the throne--but not without a sense that it is covered in blood. As time passes, he finds himself in vicious battles with neighboring tribes to ensure the survival of the Israelites. Despite David's many achievements, the exercise of power has a corrupting influence on the patriarch, and ultimately, even he is no longer favored by his God. Donald McAlpine's photography is superb, as is Beresford's direction.
