At nine tracks, two of which are live and one of which is a bootleg recording, the audio-only portion of IF WE COULD ONLY SEE US NOW is essentially an EP of rarities that accompanies the in-depth DVD (which includes live performances and band interviews). Ferocious, blistering cuts like "Eclipse" will please the most devoted headbangers, while an epic cover of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" and "Stare at the Sun," a lilting acoustic number with orchestral backing, prove that the band are versatile and adventurous.
This DVD/CD combination pack by the Post-hardcore quartet from Irvine, CA, features a 100 minute DVD and an 9-track CD. The DVD contains live concert footage, behind-the-scenes access to the band and their fans, never-before-seen material and music spanning the band's career. The CD contains rare and unreleased acoustic and live tracks.
IF WE COULD ONLY SEE US NOW is the second major-label release by California hardcore act Thrice, and the band's relationship with Island Records continues to benefit the group, lending a rich studio sheen to its muscular, driving sound. Thrice builds its aesthetic on the foundations of Southern California punk predecessors such as Bad Religion, and, like that revered group, Thrice are politically motivated and combine jackhammer rhythms, searing guitars, and raw-throated vocals with a keen ear for melody.
Thrice: Dustin Kensrue (vocals, guitar); Teppei Teranishi (guitar); Eddie Breckenridge (bass guitar); Riley Breckenridge (drums).

Steph From New Zealand Is NOOB Thrice's older stuff is amazing and like the other dude said it was along the lines of Metallica, which i am a huge fan of the older Metallica, The Artist In The Ambulance was a good cd but to catchy and poppy, but thats all that cd was good nothing great, Illusion Of Safety is my favourite but also Identity Crisis kicks major a$$ too.... Thrice is still one of the greatest Metalcore/Punk-Rock bands i have heard Submitted by Hate Crew Soldier (Alkatraz, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

If We Could Only See Us Now album
$11.79 The southern California band Thrice merges hardcore, punk, and metal influences into a not entirely convincing whole on Identity Crisis. It doesn't help that the ordeal is anchored by oddly verbose, emo lyrics. Try the title track, for example: "Image marred by self-infliction/Private wars on my soul waged/Heart is scarred by dual volitions/Juxtaposed and both engaged/Kindle flame, a test of faith/Pray help me see it through/I put all my trust in you.../End this crisis of identity." That same track also represents an awkward conflation of styles, opening with a riff that, while probably aiming for Metallica territory, ends up closer to the '80s metal of Judas Priest or Iron Maiden. The riff is then followed by typical California punk-pop vocals that give way to hardcore screaming just when the listener is settling ...

If We Could Only See Us Now album
$6.09 After a string of over the top '70s albums with high-energy tunes that made Bette Midler a sensation worldwide, she settled down on Broken Blossom. The first song, "Make Yourself Comfortable," sets the pace with a relaxed doo wop style that's hard to resist. There are some remakes on Broken Blossom including a version of Billy Joel's "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" with about twice as much pizzazz as the original; the surprising choice of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes," from Disney's Cinderella; and "You Don't Know Me," which was previously sung by Elvis Presley, Rick Nelson, Van Morrison, and Ray Charles, and still sounds great. ...
