Reg Park returns to his antics of old as the man of iron in Hercules the Avenger! The son of Jove undertakes another journey into the nether realms battling zombies and monsters in order to rescue his son, allowing goddess Gia an opportunity to place her own slacker son in Hercules' sandals. There's something for everyone: Ghouls, dragons, sweating men, and girls in skimply outfits, all in a new 16x9 enhanced edition. Then Alan Steele stars in the anachronistic Hercules and the Black Pirate, a weird time-traveling romp in which the strongman enters the Elizabethan era battling pirates on the bounding main! Muscle, action, and a healthy dose of camp went into both of these B-movie gems. Hercules (bodybuilder Reg Park) must save his son's soul from the evil Earth Goddess Gia in THE AVENGER. When he travels to the underworld, Gia's equally evil, psychopathic son Antaius assumes his identity as king. Antaius proceeds to wreak havoc upon the populace, methodically destroy the country, until Hercules returns to avenge his people. Then, in HERCULES AND THE BLACK PIRATE, things take a decidedly surreal turn when Hercules (this time played by Alan Steele) engages in a little time travel. Set in Elizabethan times, Hercules must battle the evil Rodrigo, advisor to the king, as well as the formidable Black Pirate himself; he also sets out to woo the governor's lovely daughter.

THE VIKING WOMEN AND THE SEA SERPENT: This low-rent epic chronicles the adventures of some beautiful blonde Viking women in "the days when the world was young, and the gods had not yet abandoned the race of men." They sail off into the unknown in search of their missing husbands but instead encounter the dreaded Monster of the Vortex, a gigantic sea serpent that destroys their ship. They wash up on a strange shore where they are enslaved by a group of hairy, unattractive warriors led by the evil Stark (Richard Devon) and his sniveling son (Jay Sayer). Lots of whip-cracking, lip-smacking human sacrifice and sword-swinging follows. Director-producer Roger "King of the Bs" Corman allegedly shot this classic quickie in a hectic 10 days. Susan Cabot is Inger, the Viking priestess who is obviously evil because she's the only brunette; she tries to steal the shirtless husband of leader Dezir (Abby Dalton). June Kenney, Betsey Jones-Moreland, and Sally Todd are the other Viking women, and Jonathan Haze is a young Viking male who tags along with the girls and participates in most of the film's funniest fight scenes.
