How about "the way diagonal" ?!
There is plenty of diversity here, and the familiar Metheny tone, (simultaneous Piano/Guitar note melody) his works trademark. The melodies are inventive and there is complex sections of chorus/verse with each musician taking the spotlight for improvisation.

Pat & Lyle, Thanks Again!
This recording is a must for any PMG fan and anyone who appreciates good quality music. With the addition of Gregoire Maret on harmonica, the music tells a story from the Opening track through Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.

Annoying
First of all, let me tell you, I absolutely love Pat Metheny, even his most avant garde work (see '80/81' or 'New Chautauqua'); however, this adventure goes nowhere, it's just solo after solo with no type of melodic continuity whatsoever.

A jazz masterpiece
Difficult to understand for the average listener or even those who liked some of Metheny's previous albums. This is a serious composition, intact and deeply melodic from start to finish (68 min continuous).

PMG TAKES THE GRAMMY AGAIN
A Really brilliant compostion by Pat and Lyle. It took a few listenings to see what this album was about but I soon was experiencing the interesting and exciting journey that this album would take me on.
