String Quartet Tribute to Muse transforms 11 of the U.K. trio's songs into instrumentals for violin, viola, and cello. The Radiohead tag isn't as evident with the over-the-top vocals of Muse frontman Matt Bellamy removed, but songs like "Time Is Running Out" and "Stockholm Syndrome" still have a wiry, modernist throb to them. "Small Print" is stripped of its squalling guitars, but the lead violin and understated cello background bring out the song's melody. Older songs like "Sunburn" and "Muscle Museum" are structurally sound, but won't say much to listeners unfamiliar with the originals. ~ Johnny Loftus

String Quartet Tribute To Muse songs
$11.35 (MP3 Available for Download) BORN, the debut album by the sultry string quartet Bond, is many things but certainly not a classical record in the traditional sense. And that's the point. The group expertly mines the crossover territory mapped out by artists such as Vanessa-Mae and Adiemus, and despite the hype and marketing, Bond shouldn't be dismissed as merely a pretty girl group cloaked in classical music pretension. Along with their photogenic looks, the group boasts impressive classical and pop music credentials and canny commercial instincts. The result: a big, polished production that sets classically derived themes and traditional string quartet ...

String Quartet Tribute To Muse album
$7.49 On their sophomore disc, Welsh metal band Lostprophets immediately launch into a heavy, staccato guitar riff that is joined by electronic tweaking, and it's clear that this opening track, "We Still Kill the Old Way," is going to rock. But then vocalist Ian Watkins jumps in, tempos shift, and before ...

String Quartet Tribute To Muse CD music
$11.35 (MP3 Available for Download) Bond, the scourge of classical music purists, follows up REMIXED with CLASSIFIED, the group's fourth release. Derided by traditionalists for its visual and musical flashiness, the sultry string quartet snubbed its nose at the establishment and won over legions of fans with the notion that Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms could be party music. Besides stunning looks and eye-catching attire, the foursome is known for its dynamic re-workings of well-known classical themes--high-octane blends of familiar melodies, world beat, electronica, and dance rhythms.
The group sets the tone right away with the aptly titled "Explosive," a typically ...
| | Explosive: The Best Of Bond CD (2005) DualDisc
String Quartet Tribute To Muse MP3 Album
$15.09 This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
Explosive gathers 12 highlights from Bond's three studio albums. It also includes the previously unreleased "Carmina," "Caravan," and "Sugar Plum." It's kind of a strange time for the U.K. quartet to put out a collection like this. For one thing, discounting the new material, it's relatively brief. On the other hand, Explosive might be a way for Bond to further establish their slick amalgam of classical instrumentation, worldbeat, and dance music flourish. In that sense Explosive is a primer, a guidebook, a showcase; for Bond's established fans, it's a succinct album survey with the incentive of bonus content. Released in DualDisc format, the ...

String Quartet Tribute To Muse CD music
$14.35 '80s pop faves Icehouse reissue their album MEASURE FOR MEASURE.
Based on the principles of balance, Measure for Measure is half-produced by David Lord, half by Rhett Davies. American and European editions benefit from a better track list, which opens with the Davies-produced "No Promises." A little too close to Bowie and Metheny's "This Is Not America," perhaps, but very nice all the same. "Cross the Border" resembles and continues the close relationship ...

String Quartet Tribute To Muse MP3 Album
$10.49 There really isn't a whole lot to say here except this: "All Killer, No Filler." This is as fine a collection of Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels as is likely to be assembled. It captures the man, the myth, and the magic of a young band firing on all burners, who, despite being exploited in virtually every way possible by their handlers, still managed to turn on the gas ...
