 Wonderful Sibelius for the Sibelius Lover
This recording of the Sibelius Violin Concerto has long been considered one of the best, if not the best, recordings available. With this new remastering it is simply at the apex of all recordings. My favorite remains that of Zino Francescatti with Leonard Bernstein conducting the NYPO.....artic coldness and longeur which is unexcelled. But Heifetz plays with such precise feeling and bowing that this recording is simply not to be denied. This is a devilish piece of music sounding so very simple in many areas, but in fact it is probably the most difficult violin concerto in the standard repertoir. I have heard some very major violinists demonstrate that they are in over their heads in playing this piece. This recording IS a major recording and major accomplishment! At this price and with this quality of recording and remastering you simply cannot afford to pass it up! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

 wonderful
these recordings are absolutely wonderful. Of course the performances are superb, but the actual recording and detail of sound is fantastic!
