Harold Arlen Centennial Celebration
$14.39 The phenomenon of legendary older musicians working with younger contemporary artists to broaden artistic and commercial possibilities had almost become its own genre by the mid-2000s. Sergio Mendes's 2006 release TIMELESS keeps that trend alive and kicking. In a full-scale collaboration with Black Eyed Peas, Mendes updates the Brazilian pop he mastered in the 1960s by infusing it with R&B and hip-hop. The synthesis should come as no surprise. Amid the reggaeton craze of the 2000s, who better to lay down Latin-flavored tracks for MCs than Mr. Brazil 66 himself? But the real clincher here is the roster of guest stars which includes Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, ...

Harold Arlen Centennial Celebration
$10.15 Jordan Elliot Spivack is a composer/lyricist who lives in Nanuet (Rockland County), NY, where he is a full time private piano, theory and composition teacher. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jordan started piano lessons at 5 years old after his parents discovered that he had the gift of music composition. At 10 years old he studied piano and music theory at Cornell University. He was a member of the rock band The Creation while in high school in Cortland, NY. After receiving a BM degree from Ithaca College, he went on to receive his MM in composition, theory and piano from Indiana University. Since then he has written numerous pop songs, classical and jazz compositions, 2 musicals for children, the opera "A Better Way", with libretto by Joseph P. Lanzone, and is the composer/lyricist of The Red Ribbon Theme Song, “Hands Across The Universe”, which has been learned and performed by over 15,000 students K–12 in New York State in the past 11 years. Jordan’s other original solo instrumental CDs include “Shimmer”, “World Trade Center Suite”, “Symmetry”, and “Pictures Of Me”. "My Provincetown" is a collection of 10 of Jordan E. Spivack's instrumental compositions. Each piece presents a musical mood painting of the composer's vivid memories of his many visits to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The entire CD is written, performed, arranged, and produced by Mr. Spivack. In the composer's own words: "Provincetown, a small village on the tip of Cape Cod, off the coast of Massachusetts, is one of my favorite places on earth. During many summer vacations in P-Town, I have come to love the natural beauty of the beaches, dunes, and surrounding bodies of water. The busy downtown district, bursting with terrific little shops and restaurants, the myriad art galleries, and bustling throngs of people of all types, is a site to behold. And above it all is the towering Pilgrim’s Monument, representing the historical significance of the area. ...
