Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; Director's Comments A star-studded cast provides the voices for the prehistoric creatures in this computer-animated feature set 20,000 years ago as the Ice Age approaches. Seemingly anti-social Manny, a woolly mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), acts as if he just wants to be left alone. When he meets Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), a sloth, the two become unlikely traveling companions. The plot thickens when the duo finds a human infant and decides to try to return the child to its "herd." Manny slowly but surely reveals his heart of gold, while Sid continues to provide comic relief. Diego (voiced by Denis Leary), a saber-tooth tiger with ulterior motives, soon joins them in their search for the humans. Ultimately, this group of misfits becomes its own herd, learning about friendship and loyalty as they brave snow, ice, freezing temperatures, predators, hail, and even boiling lava pits. All the while, a saber-tooth squirrel, Scat, provides comic relief as he valiantly struggles with an acorn. A well-written, humorous script and endearing characters mesh well with the state-of-the-art technology and effects. Other stars lending their voices to the feature include Goran Visnjic, Jack Black, and Jane Krakowski. Ice Age Reviews: "...Mr. Wedge and Mr. Saldanha handle the mix of verbal jokes and slapstick well..."
-- Elvis Mitchell, New York Times "...A delight....ICE AGE deserves to pass animation's survival-of-the-fittest test..."
-- Mike Clark, USA Today "...ICE AGE has some groundbreakingly realistic digimation and plenty of laughs. Think a prehistoric JUNGLE BOOK..."
-- Carla Thorpe, Total Film "...There's enough cool fun here to warm the hearts of animation enthusiasts of all ages..."
-- Michael Tunison, Box Office "...Chris Wedge has done nifty, amusing things on the visual side....His style is a kind of storybook photo-realism, giving those characters the unusual look of living and breathing plush toys..."
-- Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times "...The film's stylized, blocky humans and personable, exaggerated creatures have the feel of three-dimensional cartoons....There are emotional resonances beyond the obvious..."
-- Kim Newman, Sight and Sound "...There's something matter-of-factly astonishing about the vivid precision of key details....Arresting and often laugh-out-loud funny..."
-- Joe Leydon, Variety "...A pleasure to look at....The visuals are rich with character touches for the animals..."

Ice Age The Movie Dear CD Universe,
Ice Age is a great movie. It has very healthy content. The troubles of today are nowhere to be seen. I teaches about cooperation in a dangerous situation. The computer graphics are the best. I love it.

$10.25 Set in 1962; Produced and released in 1973.
AMERICAN GRAFFITI presents a powerful collage of youth on the brink of maturity just before the assassination of J.F.K.. Based on George Lucas's own teenage hot-rodding days in Modesto, California, this brilliant, bittersweet comedy inspired numerous other productions, including the long-running TV series HAPPY DAYS. Lucas's second feature film (following THX 1138), AMERICAN GRAFFITI contains an early screen appearance by Harrison Ford, who would figure heavily in the director's next movie, the sci-fi epic STAR WARS. The film follows one night in the lives of several recently graduated high school students. The genial Steve (Ron Howard) prepares to leave for college the next day, and Laurie (Cindy Williams), his girlfriend, is upset by his impending departure. Laurie's brother, Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), the class intellectual, is also slated for college, but he has serious doubts about his future. Also included here are the hopeless nerd (Charles Martin Smith) and the eternally cool drag racer, John (Paul LeMat), who feels pressure to live up to his reputation. A nostalgic feeling is evoked in seeing the teenagers cruising in their hot rods, eating at Mel's Diner, and listening to Wolfman Jack spin the latest hits, with the camera jumping from character to character as they each enjoy--or fret over--their last moments of summer freedom.

| | M*A*S*H DVD (1970) Widescreen
Ice Age video
$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott Gould), the film has the feel of an absurd three-ring circus. Other characters include the uptight nurse "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan (Sally Kellerman), the confused Major Frank Burns (Robert Duvall), the troubled Captain "Painless" Waldowski (John Shuck), and the simpleminded Captain "Duke" Forrest (Tom Skerritt). Altman's decision to present his film as a series of loosely connected vignettes rather than a traditionally unfolding narrative perfectly captures the freewheeling spirit so unique to early-'70s cinema.

Ice Age review
$9.99 When Hideki moves from Hokkaido to Tokyo to attend college, he quickly finds that big city life is much different than he imagined. The widespread use of Persocoms (personal computers designed to look and act like animals or humans) especially astounds him and makes him feel slightly inferior since Hideki cannot afford one. However, when he finds a discarded Persocom in the trash named Chi, Hideki sets about fixing up only to find that she can somehow operate without an OS, forcing Hideki to wonder if she is, in fact, real. In these episodes, Hideki prepares for a date with with Yumi without noticing Chi's distressed behavior leading up to the outing. Later, rumors that someone has been murdered on the floor below excite Chi's imagination.

| | Clerks II DVDs (2006) Full Frame
Ice Age movie DVD
$9.09 In 1994, writer-director Kevin Smith scored a surprise indie hit with the low-budget, black-and-white CLERKS, which won awards at the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals and has attracted a growing cult audience over the years. Following such movies as MALLRATS, CHASING AMY, and DOGMA, Smith returns to his roots for CLERKS II, a very funny, very raunchy sequel. It's been more than 10 years, but Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson) are still working at the same Quick Stop video and convenience store in New Jersey--until it burns down. They both end up finding jobs at the nearby Mooby's, a fast-food joint (with the motto "I'm Eating It!") managed by Becky (Rosario Dawson). While Dante gets prepared to move to Florida to marry Emma (Smith's real-life wife, Jennifer Schwalbach), Randal harasses geeky "Funployee of the Month" Elias (Trevor Fehrman), a dweeb who worships the Transformers and believes, much to Randal's consternation, that THE LORD OF THE RINGS is superior to STAR WARS. Also back are Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith), who contribute their own warped world view of sex, drugs, and rock & roll. The film features a string of cameos by familiar faces from other Smith films, including Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, Walter Flanagan, and producer Scott Mosier, as well as Kevin Weisman (ALIAS), Ethan Suplee (MY NAME IS EARL), and Wanda Sykes (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM); and the excellent soundtrack ranges from Talking Heads and the Smashing Pumpkins to King Diamond and Smith vet Alanis Morissette. And beware the donkey.
