Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; Director's Comments The mother of Frank Wiecek, a prisoner convicted for killing a cop, offers $5000 for information leading his release of her son. She believes the jury erred and that Frank's innocent. Reporter McNeal, who's been assigned to write a human-interest story on Wiecek, telephones her to get the scoop. McNeal's relentless investigation uncovers new clues that ultimately proves Wiecek's innocence, and returns him to freedom after eleven years of imprisonment. In this documentary-style drama based on a true story, a reporter tries to prove that a man in prison for murder has been wrongly convicted. A great performance by Stewart as the persistent journalist. Copyright 1948 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. Renewed 1975 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. Call Northside 777 Reviews: "[A] great career move for Stewart....Tautly directed..."-- Susan King, Los Angeles Times "[N]otable as one of the first crusading, factually based dramas about a miscarriage of justice."

$13.05 Hailed as a surrealistic cinematic masterpiece, UN CHIEN ANDALOU forms the meeting of two brilliant minds--those of arch painter and sculptor Salvador Dali, and fellow Spaniard and legendary filmmaker Luis Bunuel. Shot in 1929, the duo plunged headlong into their fantastic imaginations, pulling ideas from their subconscious minds, and presenting them on screen. Based on dreams that Bunuel and Dali had experienced, their one rule for shooting was to reject conventional narrative so that any meaning attached to the piece ...

$13.99 This double-feature pairs up two sci-fi features set in the future.
THE ISLAND: In this thriller from director Michael Bay (PEARL HARBOR, ARMAGEDDON), survivors of global contamination live in a sterile, self-contained world where their every move is monitored. The rules are easy: be pleasant, refrain from asking questions, and don't rock the boat. Everything they need is provided for them, from the white uniforms that magically appear in their closets, to their customized cafeteria-style meals. The survivors all eagerly await their big payoff: winning the lottery and being sent to The Island, the only remaining untainted land in the world. But Lincoln Six-Echo (Ewan McGregor) yearns for more from his life and begins to wonder what really lies outside the thick walls. When his best friend, Jordan Two-Delta (Scarlett Johansson), wins the lottery, he knows that he has to find out the truth about their world before she departs.
MINORITY REPORT: Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise, this science-fiction thriller is based on a short story by renowned writer Philip K. Dick. In the year 2054, in Washington, D.C., murder has been eliminated thanks to Precrime, a program that uses the visions of three psychics, called Precogs (an abbreviation for precognitive thinkers), to arrest and imprison would-be murderers before they have a chance to kill. Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, a Precrime enforcer who believes in the system for his own personal reasons. The director of Precrime (Max von Sydow) is eager to take the program national, and feels threatened by an ambitious federal agent (Colin Farrell) who is bent on finding a flaw in the system. When Anderton finds himself accused of the future murder of a man he's never met, his faith ...
