SOMETIME NEXT YEAR is a 16-track 1986 reissue by Clifford T. Ward, including "Prams," "Who Cares," "Quiz Show," and "Turbo."
Clifford T. Ward's 1986 album, released at a time when the singer/songwriter was just developing multiple sclerosis, was more a collection of demos than a finished product. Ian Summers, the A&R man who signed Ward to Roger Whittaker's Tembo label, has said that he intended to re-record the album with an orchestra, though that didn't come about. The production certainly has a cheapish, dated mid-'80s feel, particularly in the cloddish drums. But the record's insignificance isn't all due to the fairly bare arrangements -- no amount of sugar-coating could disguise the essential mediocrity of the songs. Ward offered middle-of-the-road, adult contemporary-leaning singer/songwriter music, perhaps a little close to Elton John in feel, though lacking the large musical and lyrical hooks that have made John so successful. When his horizons broadened beyond the usual singer/songwriter introspection, he commented -- oddly, considering on how much his music sounded like second-rate filler on commercial radio -- on the bland crassness of radio ("Another Radio Station") and television, in the so-bad-it's-not-laughable blather of "Quiz Show." The 2005 CD reissue on Cherry Red adds four bonus tracks, including the limited-edition single "Cricket," which like "Quiz Show" is an unfortunate forced commentary on the banality of the broadcast media. ~ Richie Unterberger

Sometime Next Year songs
$18.25 The Boohers are Joseph, Jamey, Lora, and Gary Booher along with Thomas Wywrot, and they've been making music together since 2000. Grandma's Songs, released in 2005, finds the group delving into a dozen bluegrass songs, both traditional and contemporary. The Boohers have also entered the prestigious company of Tom and Dixie Hall, recording the album at the Halls' studio in Franklin, TN. Grandma's Songs also relies on several of the Halls' songs, including "Sometimes the Good News Is Bad" and the title cut. The fact that the Boohers have good male and female leads, plus a talent for blending their voices together, is perhaps the band's most winning trait. In a genre that prides itself on three chords and certain conventions, this gives the band an edge in providing variety. There is much to like about Grandma's Songs. The performances are well wrought, the singing good, and the songs lively. The Boohers, however, while leaning toward tradition, never really convince one of their commitment to it. The old favorite "Bury Me Beneath the Willow," for instance, borrows from tradition, but the lead male vocal is smooth enough to make it on contemporary bluegrass radio. For fans of mainstream bluegrass, Grandma's Songs will have much to offer; for those looking for real rusticity, ...

She conducts private healing sessions, ceremonial and sacred soundings, vocal workshops, drum circles, and guided meditations. "What I do in my practice is to create sounds - largely harmonious - in concert with sacred instruments such as Himalayan singing bowls and Native American flutes. Harmonious sounds support a laminar flow in the human energy field that listeners can experience as vibrant health and well being. Properly grounded, and focused in love, the sound that comes through me is highly transformational and can assist with raising the healing vibrations of both the singer and the audience. I am extremely lucky to have received this gift and am honored to share it."“This CD 'Opening' provides one hour of Therapeutic Sound specifically for the upper chakras. I have received many requests for this CD throughout the years. I am delighted that it is available now for for use as a personal healing session. I sincerely hope you enjoy listening. Relax, resonate and flow beyond resistance into peace to the flutes, crystal bowls, singing bowls, bells, chimes and channeled vocals.”"I wanted most to represent on this recording the magic of manifestation that occurs when sound comes from the void into this world, through my voice and these sacred instruments. ...
