$9.99 Additional personnel includes: Kevin Haaland (guitar); Nikki Frey, Teresa Pingitore (violin); Wendy Brookes (cello).
With souped-up grunge guitar riffs, neo-industrial synth lines and electronica-influenced production touches, ALIEN YOUTH is the product of a hard-hitting, contemporary industrial rock quartet. The catch is, these guys and girls are as hardcore about their Christianity as they are about their music. Unlike Creed, who have a spiritual subtext to their heavy rock, Skillet makes no bones about their intentions. They proselytize like there's no tomorrow, presenting young believers like themselves as the "alien youth" of this album's ...
| | Kutless It Is Well CD (2009)
When We All Get To Heaven music CDs
$12.29 In the early aughts, Kutless established itself as the Christian alternative to chart-topping post-grunge bands such as Staind, Creed, and Third Eye Blind. As the group's career progressed, its music became increasingly radio-friendly, in large part leaving the heavy riffs behind in favor of a smoother, more melodic sound. IT IS WELL continued in that vein, delivering an emotionally powerful set of power ballads and alternative rock-informed numbers showcasing ...

| | Shirley Caesar And Friends CD (2003)
When We All Get To Heaven CD music
$9.09 SHIRLEY CAESAR AND FRIENDS was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album.
Throughout her career, including dozens of inspirational records since the 1960s, Shirley Caesar has earned her reputation as one of the most soulful and passionate of gospel singers. That reputation has fittingly won her many famous and talented fans from various musical worlds. In 2003, many of these prominent followers dropped by the studio and joined her on stage for a rousing gospel celebration collected on the Grammy-nominated SHIRLEY CAESAR & FRIENDS.
Her friends include the much younger inspirational singer Kirk Franklin, who joins Caesar on the funky and danceable "I'm Ready," which utilizes her intense voice, reaching an undeniable climax on a thrilling call and response between the two musical preachers. Caesar also has friends of a more secular variety, such as hip-hop balladeer Faith Evans, who provides a more subdued moment on the devotional "Hurting Woman," a soulful, Biblical take on "Stand By Your Man." The most rapturous moment occurs on a live track when she calls R&B contemporaries Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle up on stage to collaborate on the rousing "I Know It Was the Blood." As with the best gospel records, SHIRLEY CAESAR & FRIENDS accomplishes the feat of offering stirring music for both Christian and secular worlds.

| | Mike Mcclure Camelot Falling CD (2005)
When We All Get To Heaven songs
$9.79 A familiar song will often offer a way to tune into an unfamiliar band. While Mike McClure has recorded before, Camelot Falling nonetheless includes the familiar opener "Into the Mystic" for those unfamiliar with the band. It's a brave choice, picking a very familiar Van Morrison song, because there's really little chance of making a better version. McClure and company nonetheless do a good job, and in doing so, get the listener's attention. Here, and on songs like "Where the Wild Ones Run," the Mike McClure Band concoct a Hootie meets Jakob Dylan sound, filling each song with organ, electric guitar, and rough-and-ready harmony on the choruses. McClure isn't a one-trick pony, though, so it's a pleasant jolt when he cuts loose with hardcore alternative country on "Eden Burning/Camelot Falling." "Modelo," with its prominent Dobro, even shows that he knows how to play traditional country. There's also a fine rendition of Neil Young's ode to smoking and driving, "Roll Another Number." Perhaps McClure's dedication to God will seem rather odd after this, but he's always been an eclectic soul, drawing his inspiration ...
